Historia
Your organization's culture can feel like something that has a life of its own; it's long-standing, inherited, and seemingly impermeable - in fact, a strong culture is often an obstacle to doing new things or going in new directions. But leaders are the stewards of a company's culture and have the power to shape it. The best leaders know that organizational culture is a fundamental and powerful management tool that can drive positive outcomes.

Hearing the Original Research
Revisado: 01-21-23
I have done extensive reading in regards to leadership and building organizational culture. These articles are so often quoted in the writings of other researchers and it was very beneficial to hear these original sources. so many practical applications can be taken away from this listen.

Intelligence is usually seen as the ability to think and learn, but in a rapidly changing world, there's another set of cognitive skills that might matter more: the ability to rethink and unlearn. In our daily lives, too many of us favor the comfort of conviction over the discomfort of doubt. We listen to opinions that make us feel good, instead of ideas that make us think hard. We see disagreement as a threat to our egos, rather than an opportunity to learn.

Creative, Research Based and Entertaining
Revisado: 09-05-22
This was a wonderful listen! Adam Grant narrates with passion and humility. Research based material is not often entertaining but Adam pulled it off. What he shared is practical and approachable. In a time when employee disengagement is high, it is important to recognize a book that offers managers/ leaders practical actions that can create positive change in themselves and thus, in turn, those whom they serve.

Historia
In Leadership BS Jeffrey Pfeffer shines a bright light on the leadership industry, showing why it's failing and how it might be remade. He sets the record straight on the oft-made prescriptions for leaders to be honest, authentic, and modest; tell the truth; build trust; and take care of others. By calling BS on so many of the stories and myths of leadership, he gives people a more scientific look at the evidence and better information to guide their careers.

You Can Handle The Truth
Revisado: 05-29-22
My professional career has revolved around optimizing talent within the team and organizational setting. I appreciate this book because it is based on scientific research and verifiable data. One of the basic tenants of managing behavioral change is making sure that people understand the current status quo accurately. Until one is dissatisfied with the status quo there is no reason to change. This book will challenge the reader to think with complexity in regard to finding measurable ways to hold leaders, and ourselves, accountable for workplace culture outcomes and employee engagement.
