Historia
Clyde Hatchett has known he's had a corpse-king inside him, slowly trying to take over his body and raise an army of undead for a while now. And while that may seem like a rather, um, urgent matter to attend to, it's only now, after being forced out of Glaton by his best friends and then having to rescue someone's sister from a bad marriage, that he's actually in a place to deal with it. And he better deal with it quickly, since his entire left hand is starting to look like it belongs to the Crypt-Keeper.

Historia
Jazz Bashara is a criminal. Well, sort of. Life on Artemis, the first and only city on the moon, is tough if you're not a rich tourist or an eccentric billionaire. So smuggling in the occasional harmless bit of contraband barely counts, right? Not when you've got debts to pay and your job as a porter barely covers the rent. Everything changes when Jazz sees the chance to commit the perfect crime, with a reward too lucrative to turn down.

I absolutely loved it. The story was great and I love the performance by the narrator. I've listened to tons of audio books and this is one of the best performances I've heard.

Historia
As usual, Montana Coggeshall is hell-bent on doing what's right, even if what's right isn't exactly what's wise. So he embarks on a quest to vanquish the corrupted ursus, a threat so large they could destroy the entire world of iNcarn8. Does Montana head out after months of training for cold weather conditions, amassing an army, and strategizing with his top aides? Not really. It's more like he just walks out of his holding one day with a guide and the members of his hirð. They're just a bunch of angry teddy bears, right?

Revisado: 05-23-20
There are a few audio glitches.
This book is definitely one of the strongest in the series.
I'm so impressed with how creative Ugland is, and how good Hellegers' narration is.

Boring
Revisado: 01-29-20
I made it almost halfway through because the premise is cool and interesting, but I'm just forcing myself to continue now.
There is too much military nonsense talk between people I don't know and don't care about.
Why should I care about what happens to a world I know nothing about and have no reason to care about?
The characters are indistinguishable, the protagonist has no personality, or maybe he does and I just haven't gotten to know him. But how could I? The story focuses 70% on faceless names talking to other faceless names, and 30% or less on the protagonist and the honestly really interesting thing that happens to him.
Whyyyyy can't Sci fi writers just make a short and FOCUSED story about the cool idea that they have? Why do they always have to write the entire history of the entire universe?
Look at "I Am Mother".
Super interesting, focused, contained story that slowly expands outward until it makes sense to talk about the rest of the world.
Just stop

Very captivating and immersive. It's so much more than an audio book, it's closer to an audio theatre thanks to the wonderful narrators. Incredible performances from everyone, I'm so impressed! I enjoyed the writing as well. The story was interesting all the way through and there were some unexpected turns that felt well made.

Montana Coggeshall is feeling the squeeze - and not just because of his new leather pants from the goddess Eona. His little safeholding in the ruthless world of Vuldranni is under siege. On both sides. At the front is Lord Caticorix, a grade-A Imperial flunkey if there ever was one. He's clearly ridiculous, but the army he brought with him might not be. Plus they're bent on blocking Coggeshall from getting any food or supplies from the outside world.

Good but not great.
Revisado: 01-22-20
I'm still enjoying this series but this book is definitely the weakest one so far. I believe it might be because of the limited environment in which this part of the story takes place. I'm looking forward to the next part, but if you read this I want you to lower you expectations a little bit so you can more easily enjoy this book.
