Historia
Drawing from her work as a psychoanalyst and cantadora (keeper of old stories), Dr. Estes uses myths and folktales to illustrate how societies systematically strip away the feminine spirit. Not complete
Revisado: 01-13-22
More of a summary of the original book, and personal view of feminism. makes it seam a bit culturally sparse. I’m not sure this served the book well.

Anne Gallagher grew up enchanted by her grandfather’s stories of Ireland. Heartbroken at his death, she travels to his childhood home to spread his ashes. There, overcome with memories of the man she adored and consumed by a history she never knew, she is pulled into another time. But there Anne finds herself, hurt, disoriented, and under the care of Dr. Thomas Smith, guardian to a young boy who is oddly familiar.

I quite liked it
Revisado: 01-13-22
Solid storyline. Maybe a little bit slow getting off at the start and a little along the lines of the outlander series . Well written and well read

I love Rilke.
Revisado: 01-13-22
philosophical poetry. I really love Rilke. Narrator voice is mellow, this could work as a bedtime story. Well unless you are apt to ponder his thoughts. Than maybe not. Great listen I definitely recommend.

Historia
Helene Wecker's dazzling debut novel tells the story of two supernatural creatures who appear mysteriously in 1899 New York. Chava is a golem, a creature made of clay, brought to life by a strange man who dabbles in dark Kabbalistic magic. When her master dies at sea on the voyage from Poland, she is unmoored and adrift as the ship arrives in New York Harbor. Ahmad is a jinni, a being of fire, born in the ancient Syrian Desert. Trapped in an old copper flask by a Bedouin wizard centuries ago, he is released accidentally by a tinsmith in a Lower Manhattan shop.

Can’t recommend
Revisado: 01-13-22
The narrator carries this series. Not worth the credits . Would be a bit of a disappointment even if they were free.

Repetitive
Revisado: 01-13-22
Repetitive scenarios, no depth. It’s written for a young audience and there really isn’t any take away. The further you get along in the series the more disappointing it is.

Could have been better

The series started off ok, I’m not fond at all about how the god or gods were portrayed. There are a lot of repetitive Scenes
