very enlightening. I wish every African-American would be required to listen to this story. I found particularly informative the marchers braved through it was much more than dogs and fire hoses. This I never knew. Also was the fact that MLK was not held in high esteem by everyone during that time since I was only 5 years old and he died I missed this entire movement. great book

Historia
Thousands of people have had near-death experiences, but scientists have argued that they are impossible. Dr. Eben Alexander was one of those scientists. Neurosurgeon Alexander knew that NDEs feel real, but are simply fantasies produced by brains under extreme stress. Then, Dr. Alexander’s own brain was attacked by a rare illness. The part of the brain that controls thought and emotion shut down completely. For seven days he lay in a coma. Then Alexander’s eyes popped open. He had come back. Alexander’s recovery is a medical miracle. But the real miracle of his story lies elsewhere.

struggled to finish. didn't finish. great story but if I had to hear how he was a neurosurgeon and a scientific mind one more time I think I was going to stab myself in the eye with a fork. voice was very monotonous and at times painful to listen to. Get a voice actor.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

Great narrator. He was the best thing about the book. the book did not hold my interest, I think it was too hyped.
