Would you listen to Purplicious again? Why?

Most definitely! Very entertaining and pink is a favorite color of one of my girls.

What did you like best about this story?

That Pinkalicious finds out that she's not alone in her struggle of being what she perceives as "different".

What does Kathleen McInerney bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The voices! She's an entertaining reader and when we read the books at home now, it's nice to have a "voice" for the characters

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

"pink is powerful" - my lover of pink repeats this each time she hears it

My only complaint about this book is the use of the word "sissy". I find it interesting that most parents try to teach their children not to call names, but then they learn it from their books and tv shows. After listening to this book, one of my daughters is now insulted when people refer to her as her sisters "sissie". I think writers should consider these things when adding those words to their stories.

Would you consider the audio edition of When I Was Little to be better than the print version?

I haven't seen the print version, but I would say no. The only reason I would prefer the book to this audio is because I don't think JLC narrates it very well (and yes, I realize she wrote it). I just think I could read this book to my children in a much more interesting way and with much more enthusiasm...

What aspect of Jamie Lee Curtis’s performance would you have changed?

She's not a very enthusiastic reader, I find her voice very bland.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Not me, but my children like it.

Any additional comments?

Although I have negative comments concerning the reading of the book, I do like the book and let me say that my children actually ask to hear this one so I did rate it above average and have since purchased additional books by JLC.

What did you love best about Gruffalo's Child?

No specific to Gruffalo's Child, but I love that mouse uses his brain to outwit what would be considered the "bigger" or "stronger".

What was one of the most memorable moments of Gruffalo's Child?

For my kids, the snoring!!!

The Gruffalo stories are just too cute! This is a book my children consistently ask to hear.

My 4 year old twins weren't very interested in this story, maybe it's for a younger listener... Story was sweet and performance was fine, just not for my kids I guess.
