Historia
The Return of the King is the towering climax to J. R. R. Tolkien’s trilogy that tells the saga of the hobbits of Middle-earth and the great War of the Rings. In this concluding volume, Frodo and Sam make a terrible journey to the heart of the Land of the Shadow in a final reckoning with the power of Sauron. In addition to narrating the prose passages, Rob Inglis sings the trilogy’s songs and poems a capella, using melodies composed by Inglis and Claudia Howard, the Recorded Books studio director.

So glad there is only 1 version
Revisado: 05-08-20
1 version to rule them all? Haha, well it was certainly a well chosen performer for this epic trilogy. There are many epic moments in this last saga; made better by this voice chosen for the task. Also, I am so grateful to hear Tolkein's detailed story compared with the movies I grew up on.

Historia
The Two Towers is the second volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic saga, The Lord of the Rings. The Fellowship has been forced to split up. Frodo and Sam must continue alone towards Mount Doom, where the One Ring must be destroyed. Meanwhile, at Helm’s Deep and Isengard, the first great battles of the War of the Ring take shape. In this splendid, unabridged audio production of Tolkien’s great work, all the inhabitants of a magical universe - hobbits, elves, and wizards - spring to life. Rob Inglis’ narration has been praised as a masterpiece of audio.

Loved the encounter of Treebeard especially. Fascinating being created by Tolkein and strangely believable in reality!

Performance took me right to another world. A wonderful tale that world offers, too. Enriches the movie, if that's all you have seen of this Trilogy. Much appreciated work of life!

True Stories Have Most Power
Revisado: 08-16-19
I appreciated some part of every story. Especially since they were true stories. It also did not vother me that many of the stories were from Christian believers. It was the consequence of attitudes that mattered and inspired. The Voice actors were wonderfully true to each persons age and background. Well done. Thank you.

In this follow-up to her acclaimed 2007 novel The Bastard of Istanbul, Turkish author Elif Shafak unfolds two tantalizing parallel narratives---one contemporary and the other set in the 13th century, when Rumi encountered his spiritual mentor, the whirling dervish known as Shams of Tabriz---that together incarnate the poet's timeless message of love.

Revisado: 08-11-19
A little too drawn out in the beginning, but decently picks up speed until you are begging for more from each chapter. Curious experience. The Voice Actress for this book was the BEST and MOST TALENTED I have ever heard on Audible. Seriously talented. The story is something I will return to again and again; it is that precious. Brilliant job, dear author.

Well done but deliveru can be improved
Revisado: 08-11-19
Details the fast food and restaurant world of getting people hooked on coming back for more of their food. This facilitates diabetes and related diseases - not to mention "overweightness"! The last bit is most interesting on the day to day psychological tools to use to change one's addiction to these (mostly) industrial fake foods. Maybe the reading experience is different from the listening experience, but listening was not as interesting as I had hoped. The story was drawn out too much for 60% of the time... but it was worth the 40% of insight. Thank you for creating this book.

Historia
Often called the greatest novel ever written, War and Peace is at once an epic of the Napoleonic wars, a philosophical study, and a celebration of the Russian spirit. Tolstoy's genius is clearly seen in the multitude of characters in this massive chronicle, all of them fully realized and equally memorable.

You are in excellent company
Revisado: 07-31-19
It is a famous book whose daunting thickness makes it inacessible to those who dont have "reading time" available everyday. On the go, slowed down to a x75, the complex and rich language can be followed with minimum effort while maximizing your immeraion in this ethical and philosophical epic. I am very impressed what the Reader was able to do, but I found him reading it too fast at the "normal" setting. But! Tis' an easy fix on Audible's app. Highly recommend this audio book to all!
