Historia
In 1997, as every schoolchild knows, Tiger Woods won the Masters by the largest margin in history, becoming the first Black player to win a major championship. Four years later, the world watches with breathless anticipation as he returns to Augusta National, aiming for a milestone no other golfer has ever achieved: four professional Grand Slam triumphs in a row. In The Tiger Slam, Kevin Cook delivers a gripping, inside-the-ropes account of an astonishing streak of victories that left Woods’s rivals scrambling to keep up.

Great revisit of the Tiger days
Revisado: 01-07-25
As a golfer who lived through this era, it was great to relive it and, with hindsight, understand just how historic Tiger’s golf was. We may never see such dominance in a single sport that way again. As others have mentioned the narrator is laughably bad but it didn’t get in my way of enjoying the ride. He totally sounds like an AI voice who struggles to pronounce all of the greatest Spanish golfers (except Sergio he got right).

Historia
Two weeks of rest and recuperation - that's what the doctor ordered. Detective Sergeant DC Smith could listen to some music, make some of his own, and maybe even catch up on his reading; he is almost looking forward to it. And then there is a knock on the door. It's only his next-door neighbor, but it is the beginning of a sequence of events that will bring him face to face with some of the darkest episodes and the most dangerous people from his own past.

Historia
Jean McConville's abduction was one of the most notorious episodes of the vicious conflict known as The Troubles. Everyone in the neighborhood knew the I.R.A. was responsible. But in a climate of fear and paranoia, no one would speak of it. In 2003, five years after an accord brought an uneasy peace to Northern Ireland, a set of human bones was discovered on a beach. McConville's children knew it was their mother when they were told a blue safety pin was attached to the dress--with so many kids, she had always kept it handy for diapers or ripped clothes.

Amazing book and narration.

This is what audio books are all about. Incredibly well-researched and well-written narrative history of the Troubles. It was, and continues to be, an extremely complicated situation. Is revolutionary violence ever productive? This book shows how uncertain that proposition is and how corrosive it is to those who participate in it. Very interesting to learn about Jerry Adams too. Can’t recommend enough.

Great revisit
Revisado: 05-15-18
This was an excellent course and presented by a very clear and concise professor. Good revisit of US history - I would love an updated final chapter given the monstrosity currently inhabiting the White House. Hard to listen to the watergate chapter and not hope for history to repeat itself - will Trump fire Mueller and cause his own downfall like Nixon firing Cox?

In teeming Victorian London, where lavish wealth and appalling poverty live side by side, Edward Pierce charms the most prominent of the well-to-do as he cunningly orchestrates the crime of the century. Who would suspect that a gentleman of breeding could mastermind the daring theft of a fortune in gold? Who could predict the consequences of making the extraordinary robbery aboard the pride of England's industrial era, the mighty steam locomotive?
