Not For Me
Revisado: 09-23-17
I'm sure Barbara Neely is a talented writer. However, I don't like to read about characters who constantly make stupid decisions. I returned this book after chapter 6 because I simply couldn't force myself to listen anymore.

Historia
Trading in Texas heat for Maine's tangy salt air, Natalie Barnes risked it all to buy the Gray Whale Inn, a quaint bed and breakfast on Cranberry Island. She adores whipping up buttery muffins and other rich breakfast treats for her guests until Bernard Katz checks in. The overbearing land developer plans to build a resort next door where an endangered colony of black-chinned terns is nesting. Worried about the birds, the inevitable transformation of the sleepy fishing community, and her livelihood, Natalie takes a public stand against the project.

Historia
Narrated by Emmy Award–winning actor Martin Sheen, The Home Front: Life in America During World War II takes listeners into the lives of Americans at home—part of the Greatest Generation—who supported the war effort and sustained the country during wartime. The war brought immediate, life-changing shifts: the rationing of meat, dairy products, and sugar; an explosion of war-related jobs; and, despite mixed signals, a greater role for women working outside the home.

This is an interesting and thought provoking book that spotlights issues that many people rarely think about when it comes to WW2. Martin Sheen does a great job as narrator. I'm glad I got this book and was able to see what life was like for many Americans during the war.

Steamy new series
Revisado: 09-10-17
This is another series written by Ann Charles. It's more of a romance than a mystery, but, that's ok because Ann Charles is great in any genre of books. Her characters are intelligent and engage in witty dialogue. Charles also knows how to create sexual tension without being vulgar or over the top. I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next book in this series.

Revisado: 09-10-17
Ann Charles does a great job creating intelligent and brave characters and putting them in odd situations. Charlie and Angelica are perfect for each other. The romance is steamy and the adventure is entertaining. Now that we know that both Charlie has a secret gift like his sister Violet, I can't wait to see how their 2 worlds come. I look forward to see what happens next for Angelica and Charlie.
