It was so good to hear from a community member who is still married. Empowering women's groups tend to get mislabeled as anti-man or pro-divorce. This couldn't be further from the truth.

We must learn from the past
Revisado: 02-23-25
Distressing book about what it took to change the laws to no longer lock women up for the crime od disagreeing with her husband.
The 1 star reviews are telling. Yes, even in the 21 century, people would still rather bury their head in the sand than recognize injustice.

Trauma RESPONSIVE vs Trauma Informed

Trauma informed is not enough unless the therapist is willing to use that knowledge towards the benefit in healing of the survivor.

It is never "just" porn. There always has to be some level of grooming, gaslighting, manipulation, lying and abuse to keep a secret life hidden.

Raw, inspired and a look behind sex addiction.
Revisado: 01-09-25
Loved the author's vulnerable story shared with such raw passion. What gave me pause is leaning into the codependency model and "trusting the process" rather than listening to our gut. The Meadows is extravagantly expensive and still uses harmful, outdated victim-blaming.

50% toxic & SA/PA enabling, 30% useless, and 20% good advice
Revisado: 10-26-24
Warning: not for those who are new to recovery. There is so much enabling information that an abusive person can weaponize against their partner.
Recommended for those who have YEARS of accountability and solid sobriety as a warning of what bad resources look/sound like.
The excerpts from the betrayed wife are heartbreaking. She embraces victim-blaming - as the victim.😔 Yes, it's okay to be angry when our person lies, deceives, manipulates and gaslights us. No, "staying on our side of the street" when we SHARE the street isn't helpful. No amount of 'working on ourselves' will fix a non-repentant heart. WE NEED SAFETY. Setting boundaries to not tolerate continued abuse - and then following through with consequences up to and including divorce- empowers betrayed partners.
