Fascinating and exciting, this fast-paced story begins with a young woman starting life on her own, following years of familial abuse. It's easy to have sympathy for her and to root for her along the way.

I enjoyed the story line, voice actors, and this first edition of the series was free as an Audible Plus option.

The story has many potential triggers for abuse survivors so caution is advised for any victims of physical abuse.

On My List of BEST MYSTERY THRILLERS OF 2025

There's nothing so exciting as listening to an Audible mystery thriller and realizing that you have no idea who did it!

This book is the whole package: characters who grab the reader's attention, a story with plenty of twists, writing that displays real talent, and voice actors who bring it all up beyond expectations.

I might buy a hard copy of the book to keep. It's that good. Enjoy with a cup of English tea and a few biscuits.

Another Winner, 3rd in Series

Another hot guy wins the love of his life...eventually. One of the things this reader loves about this series is the viewpoints from both sides. We get to know them not only by their own actions, but also through the eyes of friends and family members. The characters are fully three-dimensional.

Very Well-Written, Sexy, Fun Story

This multi-layered story captured the imagination quickly. The setting in wine country is realistic while also being fun. The main characters are lost and struggling in different ways before they meet and that's very relatable.

This reader particularly enjoyed the descriptive scenery and the family dynamics. The sexual chemistry is pure fireworks and the writing was stunning. I enjoyed this Audible book so much that I already downloaded the next two volumes in the series. Kudos to the writer and voice actors, and production team. Great work!

Superbly Talented Author

Listening to this book has been an eye-opening introduction to cowboy stories and so much more. Firstly, this author has grabbed my attention and I intend to listen to every book she publishes. Her amazing talent was aparent immediately. After finishing the Audible book I am saving it and downloading it to play again and again. One thing that will stay with me is how everything is referenced and wrapped up in the end. Where has this Author been all my life?! I need many more Audible selections from her, please!

I've been listening to this series for several years because the characters are so relevant and relatable. The mystery is always well written but it's the characters that keep me coming back. Plus I love the Narrator.

This Audible book is full of suspense with remarkable plot twists. The characters are three dimensional and complex with back stories that beg for a look down each fork in the road.

Love this Author But Not this Book

Not a Fan of the Narrator. I couldn't make sense of the story at least partially because of the narration. I have loved every other Julia Quinn story so I'm terribly sad to leave this review. Perhaps the Author will consider a change of Narrator and some minor edits. I've given every other one of her Audible books a five star review.

Thrilling Twisting Love Story

I'm going to miss the characters in this story because they were so real and three-dimensional. It's a thriller, mystery, and a love story all rolled into one very enjoyable experience.

This Author never disappoints. I read all of her J.D. Robb books and only recently began listening to these books on Audible. It doesn't matter what she uses for a pen name. I'm hooked and you will be too!
