So good I listened to it twice!
Revisado: 12-11-15
This story was amazing. It had such a twist at the end I had to start over and listen to it again keeping in mind what I then knew from the ending. A must listen. The narration was melodic and mesmerizing. 10 stars!

Fabulous Cree
Revisado: 11-17-15
It was great how Cree sides with the "underdog" pardon the pun. I don't feel that Cree was left out of this story at all, it showed her empathy to humanity that lives, not just the ghosts. Anna Fields was superior as always, God rest her soul. A superior listen.

A truly diabolical story of incredible detail!
Revisado: 10-16-15
What did you love best about Pretty Girls?
Kathleen Early's narrative was spot-on, invoking emotion and personality in every sentence. This book was by far Karin Slaughter's most horrific crime novel to date...not for the weak of heart.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The plot was a nerve-twanging, edge-of-the-seat twist of horrors that never let up. Hearing Blonde Hair, Blue Eyes at the end had me in tears.
Which scene was your favorite?
I have to say that the take-down of the psychopath was my favourite, and not for the obvious reasons of the good guy(gal) prevailing, but because unlike every horror movie out there, the bad guy was not a super-human indestructible robot that cannot be stopped. Finally someone had the where-with-all to write a take-down scene that is believable.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
I loved the wry humour that leaked through even in the midst of the horror and diabolical torture of this book. The way the sister's and family related to each other was believable in a real way, the way things should be in a family. On the other hand, the horrific detail of torture and abuse that was described was heart-wrenching, at least for anyone of a normal psyche.
Any additional comments?
LOVED IT. Couldn't put it down. I will listen to it time and again to make sure I didn't miss anything, to hear Kathleen Early's fabulous narrative. 10 stars and 5 thumbs up!

I found this book almost so out there as to be annoying. If I hear the word "Vero" one more time I might pull out my hair. The main character was so out of it I couldn't follow the plot line at all

Where does A Thin Dark Line rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
One of the best! Excellent narration and the storyline was a great suspense.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Very good. So many possibilities, the story keeps you guessing the whole time.
Have you listened to any of Karen Peakes’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I've never heard any previous books of Karen Peakes but I will be searching out more for sure!
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
I'm not very good at creativity, not too sure how to answer this one at all.
Any additional comments?
I will be looking for more with Karen Peakes!
