Historia
It is a strange world, one filled with a myriad of mysteries that shrouded its true history. It is a place where many races once thrived, only to eventually dwindle away from the records of time, locked in an eternal struggle against a strange but powerful kind. Our journey continues, as all the Chosen of the Chosen Battle Royale, and all of the major influential parties, along with the rogue practitioners had been transported to this world, or rather, to this ancient battlefield. It is here, their destinies will come to fruition; it is here, they will become renowned.

The Best Drinking Game to ever….change!
Revisado: 10-20-22
Seriously, everyone is right because the “but then there was a change” is used so much the author has to be playing a game with us. It’s honestly kinda fun(ny). So break out the booze and enjoy because the story is still pretty solid and enjoyable. I feel like it’s there to keep the story lighthearted and regulatory. I’m in for the haul at this point unless something super ridiculous throws me off. Also, this was the first book that really showed the scale of the world at large and road to growth Feng Yu needs to scale going forward. I hope he makes some significant growth in the next book because he and his crew are severely underpowered for what they face. So I’m excited for the next book and all it’s “changes”.

Great but way too much at the same time
Revisado: 10-02-22
I really like this series. The only thing that’s needs to be tuned is the sheer slim margin of victory for almost every single real fight. Every battle can’t be this intense or something is going to lose potency. Some of the villains only become threats for plot’s sake. The always manage to pop up at the exact right time, or land/dodge the right blow or gain an advantage in some crazy twist. It works in small doses but the author is way too liberal here (our heroes included). How Felix has any nerve endings to remotely feel pain at this point is beyond me he’s been through more pain, near death & actual death than any character in the history of books(maybe except the guy in Silver Fox & the Western Hero). Also the scaling is off meaning his wins/gains versus his actual fighting potential. Some of what he’s overcome and grown from in scale only leads to him barely winning fights. He’s literally overcome primodials and a God how is he being troubled by any regular combatant? Why does he still range weaker in instances than his friends? If we want to chalk it up to “skill” why aren’t they finishing the big fights instead. They usually end up out of the fight rather quickly but yet Felix manages to look like a amateur everytime they spare HOW? Please don’t let any of that detract you though GET THIS BOOK it’s a well crafted story just needs a little love with power scaling.

Learning to fight comes to Kyle like he is remembering something he had forgotten. Perhaps that makes sense as the reincarnated War God. But weapons skills are not enough; Kyle has to learn to work with a team. More than that, he doesn't even know who the real enemies are yet. All that is going to change though, and the heavens will shake as the War God makes his presence felt once again.

Historia
Terrence Mack was born poor, grew up tough, and died hard. Waking up in a sea cave with nothing but the clothes on his back and a new bullet scar was enough to convince him that wherever his death had brought him, it wasn't paradise. His new world quickly proves to be a place of danger, magic, monsters, and - for Terry at least - women. Known on Celestine as a template, Terry's genes are key to the survival of the eldritch races. But the fiercely competitive eldritch don't typically leave their lovers alive long, and aren't accustomed to taking 'no' for an answer.

Everyone is Right about this book
Revisado: 01-18-22
It’s an absolute blueprint for harem fantasy stories. Everything works well. Nothing is over done frankly speaking it’s just the best I’ve heard to date. I’m a bit late to the party here having read and listened to so many books in this genre. Typically, there is usually some quirk I have that I have to except as a dislike for the sake of an overall good story. This one is about as close to flawless as you are going to get. If you haven’t read this book yet and into the genre JUST GET IT. You won’t find a better use of your credit. On to book two and beyond I go.

Hero of Misunderstandings and Happenstance
Revisado: 11-25-21
Ok this was fun! First, to enjoy this you have to understand this isn’t a story meant to have vast amounts of depth or deep character growth. Dani’s motivations are simple and stated as much at the beginning. There isn’t some grand plan, the guy is just trying to obtain a little better life for himself. That’s it! Now could they build upon that in future books sure but if you are expecting that here you are missing the “meat” of the story. Its supposed to be a fun comedic POV story of how far one can get on their conflicts and how everyone (including himself) interprets those conflicts. Everything follows after that is either fantastical event or pure comedy gold. Though luck is definitely involved most of his achievements are due to utilizing overlooked game mechanics and/or Dan’s foes (allies) overthinking or misinterpreting his motives. It’s similar to modern anime with overpowered Main Characters who are quirky to others around him but they are so intrigued by him they assume everything he does is genius due to his innate ability. The real character growth is in what these misunderstandings do for the nobles, common man & even NPC characters around Dan. They learn how to think in new ways or gain a “strength of will” they didn’t know they could have. This is from a determination to either beat Dan or be respected by him. Most of time he’s completely unaware of this or misinterprets these moments as classism due to how the world usually works. All of this to varying degrees of humor and honestly endearing moments. These moments didn’t get old for me….due to some pretty great narration. All in all a solid story about a random guy who comes out of nowhere and shakes up the world and hearts of the aristocracy. These stories usually work short term and I can definitely see how some can grow stale fast but I’m definitely going in for book two and if they can build on a solid story with a little more growth all around…and find more ways to keep the humor fresh I’ll be back for all the books.

So Good and Bad you just get confused!
Revisado: 11-16-21
I enjoyed the first book for the setting and world building even though I noticed some quirks that’s were less than desirable by the authors choices. A: Women who have any major role in the story are so OP that you wonder why he even decided to right the main man characters as heroes at all. I mean there is literally nothing they can’t do but the author will write in a tiny little subtext to make it seem like other people are actually needed for something. B: Contradiction - they will flesh out powers and plot devices so expertly at times and then other times you wonder is this the writer? (Like when and why Kai can’t use a particular power but then explaining how Kai is different as dragon but have a crucial change in him be dominated by the use of a different species). Also this is supposed to be someone else’s core path and species hint she’s female so even this crucial time is more a reflection on what she’s done than anything he’s achieved (I mean he literally can’t move without doing her moves). C: Dead-space when there shouldn’t be. I don’t know how many chapters (like 12 or more maybe). Our MC having the same knowledge of how dire their situation is just doing so many things that have zero to do with actually progressing. And it’s not even like he’s absent minded because he worked so diligently to do so in book one but here in book two when it’s more vital he’s reading cookbooks and math books!?! It felt like if Rona never rejoined the MC and his core they would have just been playing house up until they died. For multiple chapters they don’t do anything truly mission critical it’s like the MC isn’t the same person the author wrote in book one. He literally doesn’t start training until like 2days before the villain is about to invade. Don’t worry though…the Main Female leads always stay focused they always get their way and even when they are wrong the apology is just a pacifier as everything still goes as they intend it to. They are never challenged in any meaningful way to improve their horrible personality flaws because they are “pretty” and cry and have had “hard lives”(like everyone else in the story smh) D. Random extra Main Villain- dude really!?! I mean this extra character was just thrown in to give the MC something to do at the end. They brush over its existence by letting it live at first and not giving a second thought to finishing it off. Very unlike the story until now and instead of growing it into a major threat throughout the book (or even into the next book) it pops up like the Kool Aid man because the actual Main Villain is already well and truly finished by the Female lead character. Okay I’m about done here- I don’t personally like books that write characters out of place. Rona should definitely without a doubt just be the Main Character and Kai her young sidekick side character. It would have made way more sense even from book one. However, her character growth is too skewed towards her purpose which should effect her personality but it didn’t. She’s too strong to have a peer or equal of any gender to challenge her to improve her behavior (but she sure can tell you about yourself and go unchallenged) and the only reason the villain was remotely a threat is simply because he “had” to be because that’s a villain…so writing dictates he has to give her some kind of anxiety. I don’t even want to talk about Tela by the time you care about her is when the author is just writing tragedy for tragedy’s sake to pull on your sympathy. Just know she’s because an older but weaker version of Rona. There is so much to like and dislike about the story it just leaves you feeling empty in my opinion. The world…the history the magic and myths all good but The execution is just all over the place. Book Two is where I get off this ride but if you don’t let inconsistencies deter you then grab Book Three it’s still a fun but frustrating read.

Percy Jackson meets World Tree Online
Revisado: 03-26-21
This was absolutely fun. This will be a case of you either understanding the Main MC or not. He is without a doubt a total jackass BUT (huge heart) he’s also not cruel and is a very noble guy. It’s absolutely understandable why he is this way given his background and no nonsense demeanor and ignorance of the outside world he finds himself in. It honestly just becomes comedic relief which I’m 1000% is E.A.Hooper’s intent. He goes from more jackass into just Savagely bad people skills..and even still you see his character grow into more compassionate hero. This story is so well done just like Hooper’s previous work. The world building the supporting characters it’s really shaping up to be a nice new story. Besides getting a little heavy-handed with the skill descriptions(more because there are SO many skill than them being descriptive) this book is otherwise a fluid and extremely enjoyable listen. Easily worth the credit.

The cuteness adventure love story i've read in awhile
Revisado: 07-11-16
I love the two main characters and their awkwardness of interaction and clashing of worlds never fades or loses its base. The story is not overly detailed but still manages to draw the right picture of what's going on imaginatively. I also liked the way it gives you both prospectives without having to retell ever event in double but progressively. I want to find things to critic but in the course of reading nothing really matters enough to state as a negative. That said, it's a story that's not ground breaking (Romeo and Juliet meets any book about warring factions and supernatural hierarchy. It's still extremely interesting just without the "shiny new luster" of a brand new plot or complete reimagination of said plot. READ THIS BOOK If you are a fan of adventures books, action and romance... You owe it to yourself seriously!!

Better each Book!!
Revisado: 05-28-16
Loving this series this story has been great. Cole is always a breath of fresh air as a smart witty MC. Favorite part of the book is the developments between and the hunter. The new was introduced in an awesome job especially one special little robot.
The only small nitpicks is sometimes Cole can be a little to absolute in his judgment of others. Also, some characters don't get enough dialogue for you to develop an attachment to them. I always felt like I'd want to know more about these new comers.
The persistent issue is the use application of Cole's power which they talk about as unique but it seems to be The Greatest considering the only way the writer keeps it in check is to write off as beyond Cole's reach until he writes a no way situation and Cole's power saves the day. I still think if they would have just make it develop with time (like the others that came to the outskirts) instead of the No Hope scenario It would give Cole and is readers a feeling of satisfaction for Cole's growth and accomplished coming accustomed to this new world.
Again that's just nitpicking overall it's still a awesome highly enjoyable series can't wait to finish Book 4
