Great Love Story

I think that the love story between Nick and Kanae is wonderful. The key, however, to a happy, healthy marriage is two people who are emotionally healthy. I think that although Nick has a physical disability, he has the advantage of coming from a good family who have loved him and supported him throughout his life.

I don't agree, however, that if God puts the desire for marriage and family in your heart that means that he will necessarily bring the perfect person to you in his perfect timing. There are plenty of women in the church who desire a husband and family but who never magically receive those things because of lack of men in the church. Also, emotional issues can get in the way of being able to form a healthy relationship. So it's not as simple as God will bring you someone if that's what he wants for your life. We live in a broken world, and even the best marriages have issues and problems.

Still this book is encouraging. I believe that there are men like Nick who still exist in this world.
