The voices were too robotic. The story is likely better than it sounds but I couldn’t immerse myself in it when everything from them both was so monotone. The story for me was lost in that. So it was an overall dud for me DNF…

Panty melting comedy

This book is so good. It somehow manages to touch on the darkness similarly displayed in The Sacrifice, but still makes you laugh at every turn. The MMC was hilarious and so hot…definitely coming in hot as my newest fav book boyfriend 🙌🏽

The plot was great. Nothing felt like “why would they do that?!” You know those cringy things you have to overlook to like some of the spicy romances out there. You just have to pretend the bad stuff isn’t there. This though! Fully immerse!!!!

“What’s going on?”

That’s Knoah’s (however you spell it🙄) catchphrase. The storyline was good but some how the dialogue made it feel surface level. They were just a little too perfect and Knoah’s character said “what’s going on way to much” she had no real faculties. It was the story of a damsel in distress…she literally faints multiple times in the story….

I wanted to like this…

But I just couldn’t. The story itself is actually pretty good. But the writing is odd too slow and the main char ruminates over stupid things and when she becomes queen behaves even more oddly and all I can think is she let a year pass from one hunt to the next before doing ANYTHING? Idk…it just seems odd.

I think the thing that bothers me the most is that she almost dies all the time she’s not a heroine. She’s a victim of circumstance and her unwillingness to take a real stand on anything is annoying and makes me wonder why the author made her such a sniveling baby…

If she had a greater backbone I’d have loved this. Too bad.

One caveat though as a woman who likes her spice the romance here is great but the spice is not there. It’s so mild. Even a little spice but…it goes from great kiss in to it was a wonderful night

Loved them!

Book 3 started out a little slow for me but the following of the pregnancy although it felt like a “Christmas” book it was still a fun listen and all of the voice acting throughout was wonderful! I loved the story arc. The characters all felt pretty well rounded. The spice was perfect. I normally don’t like reverse harem books but this one was so sweet and made sense due to the elemental components. 🙌🏽

Amazing story a few weird parts

Ok let’s get what I didn’t like out of the way…
1. The female voice actor made every word Clara’s character spoke seem angry which made it hard to discern her emotions. There were moments where I felt she was being softer or more regal and the voice acting did not adequately reflect that change of scene/intention of the character.

2. The spice…I had high hopes it would expand…but after hearing the same scenario play out I was bored the spice was epically mild after that since you knew what was coming…missionary biting and then curling the woman up like a shrimp. Then there was the ick factor…both brothers had the same sexual preferences. That’s just weird to me. And they also both chose “sweetheart” as the term of endearment for their women.

3. There wasn’t supposed to be a 3 but I must…what woman calls her own breasts “tits”? When people are making love a softer word would make more sense to use when marriages from a female perspective.

Now for the good stuff. The banter between the brothers was so adorable. Viper and Cobra are way more interesting than king snake. Their personalities are just more fun!

The storyline is new innovative and fun!

I def give the story a 5/5. The spice I consider to be additional and I would only give that one pepper…definitely mild.

Also Clara’s giving in to the sexual encounter could have had a bit more mental discussion she went from “no thank you” to “that feels good”…when did her mind change exactly?! It was too glossed over.

I don’t know if I’m going to re-listen to this like I do when reading my obsessive favs. But definitely great for a once through listen!

Such an amazing story!

I probably should have seen the outcome but I did not! It was so good the character motives were on point!

My only slight is that I didn’t fall in love with the voice actors.

But this book was good enough that it carried them the rest of the way!

Oh that voice!

The male audio reader is fantastic. I love his voice. The female was acceptable. She didn’t ruin it for me but I didn’t feel much emotional connection to her…not everyone can be Stina Neilson.

I liked the storyline more than I thought I would. Knowing that this is a modern take on her characters from her “Bend Her” book series I wasn’t surprised by the male character’s disposition and inclinations toward control.

There was one thing though the intro to the female leads chapters was annoying to me. I don’t feel like the quotes from the female leads fav book were poignant enough to merit existing. If those had not been in the book I’d have given the story a 5.
