A twister, a kidnapping, and a murder - oh my! Scumble River may never be the same. For school psychologist Skye Denison, there's certainly no place like home. When a violent tornado devastates her small hometown of Scumble River, she can't see how the community will ever recover - especially since town councilman Zeke Lyons appears to have perished in the twister. But things get even worse for Skye when her police chief husband, Wally, disappears in the midst of investigating Zeke's death, and evidence arises pointing to foul play.

The Suspense is Excruciating
Revisado: 08-02-18
It has been a long time since a book has taken hold of me like this one. The wait was excruciating as I had to know the end. This is one of the best thrillers I've listened to, the story grabbed me from the beginning and wouldn't let go.

Perfect Murder Mystery
Revisado: 02-19-15
Any additional comments?
Enjoyed the fact that you don't know who the murderer is before the end. So many suspects with motive. Christine Leto is easy to listen to and enjoyed her narration. Will be looking for more of her work. The main character is just quirky enough to keep you smiling. A light hearted story line.

Life
Revisado: 01-15-14
Any additional comments?
There is an air of expectancy all through the story. Cassandra Campbell's narration draws you in with her softness and easy flow. This is a quiet story, yet you don't want to stop listening because you have been drawn into each character's life. Some say they figured it out before the end, but you are giving just enough to think "maybe not". You realize that as you walk through your day you are intersecting with a drama all your own. This is one of those rare stories where you become attached to the characters and you know you will miss them tomorrow.

Historia
Given the importance of what they do, and the controversies that often surround them, and the violent people they sometimes confront, it is remarkable that in the history of this country only four active federal judges have been murdered. Judge Raymond Fawcett has just become number five.... Nothing is as it seems and everything’s fair game in this wickedly clever new novel from John Grisham, the undisputed master of the legal thriller.

Unexpected
Revisado: 11-30-13
What did you love best about The Racketeer?
Traveling along and then you are taken off the main road and you can't figure out why you are on this road and where is it going. This turn kept me wanting to know what was really happening.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
Not an edge of your seat story, but definitely has a plot that keeps your interest and draws you back.
What about J.D. Jackson’s performance did you like?
J. D. Jackson's performance was great. This was the first time I have listened to one of his performances and found him easy to listen to and enjoyable.
Any additional comments?
