An interesting story

I don’t usually like time travel stories but this was unexpectedly different. The hero didn’t save George Washington or invent the machine gun. She did use her uptime knowledge to help herself and her friends. A nice ending.

I dislike when an author kills off an important if minor character just for a shortsighted (IMO) desire to emphasize how bad the main character feels about the loss. Except the main character needs the deceased characters contributions to move the story along, which means the deceased character is replaced by a doppelgänger who fills the same roll but isn’t and can’t be as well written as the other character. I wish authors would resist this temptation.

It was an enjoyable listen and reminded me a bit of “Across the Nightingale Floor.” Also, the twist at the end was a pleasant surprise. Hope there’s a follow on story

When stories resort to time travel or dimension travel it usually means the author has run out of ideas. I checked out of book 9 and almost didn’t check back in on this one, I’m glad I listened to this new episode.

Wanting more stories about the Forrester’s, the Stalker’s, and especially Kaiial. My only story quibble is that Col Edmonds mishandled his indirect fire assets. They could have been decisive, but i guess if they were, there probably wouldn’t have been the final charge and the conclusion.

Not what I expected but interesting nonetheless

Not a diet or epicurean book. Good stories about food, sickness, and cultures and how they relate to the current obesity problem. His conclusion makes sense in that it covers both the carb and keto hypothesis but points the finger at government meddling and capture of and by the food industry. Not too much on solutions though. I wonder what Gary Taubes would make of it?

I almost gave this a pass because it doesn't continue either the Ish/Pip and Natalya/Zoya story line. I almost passed on The Wizard's Butler also, but I'm glad I didn't! My only problem is waiting for the next installment of all the Nathan Lowell story lines.
