This is pretty basic and slow, not just slow-burn.
Revisado: 04-02-25
Everything about this story is slow, bloated, and drawn out. There's a difference between a story taking a while to develop romance, and a story taking a while to develop , at all. This is the latter.
The MC is pitiful, a few of the cast of characters are almost interesting, and dialogue is vast, but bland in equal measure. The voice actors do really well, but this book is just a time-killer.

Interesting Story Wrapped in a Terrible LitRPG
Revisado: 01-17-25
A pilot that has known war all his life is isekaid to a world on it's last crippled leg. He learns about the world through the help of the "Last Guardian" dryad, and later decides to protect her, and any who comes to them for refuge. Against odds that...are beyond impossible, the MC, with his plane and knowledge of War, will save those that all but seem to be unlucky enough to still be alive in such a bleak time.
The idea is actually pretty cool. Unfortunately, there's a litrpg system that makes absolutely no sense, other than to provide the main characters exactly what they need, when they need it. The system, as well as the overabundance of story narrative that overtakes most of the character interactions, immersive world-building and development, makes this series (with a lot of potential) look like it will be just another story that might be as fun as it is shallow.
On a really plus side. The audiobook is wonderfully narrated.

Historia
The galaxy just called for help. Unfortunately, the wrong man answered. When small-time con man Cal Carver is thrown in jail and forced to share a cell with a semi-naked, cannibalistic serial killer, he's pretty sure his day can't get any worse. Boy, is he wrong. It isn't until two-thirds of the human race is wiped out and Cal is mistakenly abducted by aliens that things really start to go downhill.

Great Narration, Juvenile Plot, Unlikable Characters...
Revisado: 11-18-24
Rag-tag teams usually make some of the most fun stories, even if the story itself isn't necessarily "grand". But this...well...when the only redeeming character is a literal blob that doesn't speak, it's hard to care about the story as a whole.
I can go into detail about how the MC is, almost, adorably frustrating on top of being a metaphorical piñata for every character in the story (excluding the blob). Or, how painfully obvious the plot is. But, it’s not really worth it.

Nathan's preparations will be tested, as this war will be won with ancient spells and forbidden magic, not sword and bow. He'll need to gather his battered allies and utilize every trick and spell he's learned to keep the war from spiraling out of control. Storm clouds loom in the east, however. Civil war brews in the joint republic of faeries and elves, and someone or something is fanning the flames. Nathan finds himself playing both general and peacemaker.

Just One More Book Left.
Revisado: 11-06-24
It's almost coming to an end. One of, if not, the best story written in its genre. This series has to continued to grow in plot, complexity, politics, action, and love-interests, in all the right ways. Savannah continues to show why she's one of the top voice actors in the business.
Looking forward to a satisfying conclusion to what has been a very enjoyable series.

The world changed the day the rifts happened. Trolls, elves, and other races from fantasy and myth emerged into a modern world, bringing magic with them. The world governments worked to segregate these new arrivals into refugee camps, which eventually became the nation of De’Vas. A nation of paranormals.

Best New Haremlit Series of 2024.
Revisado: 10-28-24
This book was a wonderful surprise. A nice Urban Fantasy setting, with a great cast of characters that makes the story stand out in more ways than one in the genre (Lilly and Bo, ride or die for life).
The pacing of the story and relationship development are fast, yet still feel natural. The MC isn't a chad, but not a pushover. There's spice, action, bread rolls, and a terrifying mother that scares orcs and beastkin alike. Overall, this was a really fun book, and truly hope book 2 continues to impress.

A classy detective story with a magical twist. The world-building was as interesting as it was low-key, the intrigue was well delivered, and the ending was solid. I could listen to this audiobook more than once. Narrators did an amazing job.

More of a Good Thing.
Revisado: 07-11-24
If you enjoyed the first book, you'll more than likely enjoy this one. What started as simple play for territory is rapidly turning into an all out gang war that could change entire cities criminal structure. The fights are much bigger, more characters are in play, and the plot becomes even more interesting.
...of course that also means more fluffiness, but that goes without saying.

Historia
This season, on the most unfiltered reality show in the universe, the one to watch will be human …Succubi treat all other species as livestock. Gene seeds from every corner of the universe are bought and sold for sustenance, for labor … for fun. Yet, for all their advantages over natural breeding programs, gene seeds are not without risk. Occasionally, such seeds retain episodic memory of a past life. These seeds – called ghosts – are routinely destroyed when discovered. Succubi, however, are ruled by their desires. Wherever there’s potential for profit, exceptions get made.

Historia
In the distant past, a time of magic and swordplay, there lived Harold, the mightiest lich of all, a master of arcane sciences, and a challenger of gods. After reaching the pinnacle of his power and finding it surprisingly bland, Harold waged a cataclysmic war against the gods, aiming to shatter the very system that confined him. He took a nap, but he is awake once more.

This is Ridiculous, but in a very good way.
Revisado: 05-10-24
This series continues to be outrageous and fun. While the pacing of this book is slower than book 1, the characters, new and old, and their interactions with each other is entertaining (or outright cringedly hilarious). The cast of voice actors made this audiobook gold, worth listening more than once.
The only negative I would point out is that, even though this book was amazing, there was a lot of buildup and development that was held off for the next book. Really looking forward to reading/listening, but hope the buildup pays off.
