Historia
The correspondence between Carrie Allsop and David Mayer reveals, piece by piece, the painful details of a devastating affair between their spouses. With each commiserating scratch of the pen, they confess their fears and bare their souls. They share the bewilderment over how things went so wrong and come to wonder where to go from here. Told entirely through the letters of two comforting strangers and those of two illicit lovers, Evidence of the Affair explores the complex nature of the heart. And ultimately, for one woman, how liberating it can be when it’s broken.

NOPE.

You’ll never get this hour and a half of your life back. I was surprised how bad it was because this author is good. Boring. Predictable. Cliche.

Good. Once You Cut Through All the Name Dropping and Labels
Revisado: 03-28-23
Pretty good. I think the author’s narcissism can really be seen in this work. It was also very clear that he is all about name dropping and label dropping. If you can cut through all of this, it’s a very good story. Maybe that’s the character he is trying to convey. Put I think it distracts and takes away from allowing this to be a great story.

Historia
Set in the mountains of southern Appalachia, Demon Copperhead is the story of a boy born to a teenaged single mother in a single-wide trailer, with no assets beyond his dead father’s good looks and copper-colored hair, a caustic wit, and a fierce talent for survival. Relayed in his own unsparing voice, Demon braves the modern perils of foster care, child labor, derelict schools, athletic success, addiction, disastrous loves, and crushing losses.

Revisado: 03-18-23
I hesitated about reading this for a long time because of the description I read about it. Wrong! It was incredible! The characters were incredible and so well-developed. Dialogue was on point. Believable! I loved the story. And Demon.

Great story, despite the author’s lecture.
Revisado: 12-27-22
I thought the subject was well handled and the author did not come across as lecturing the audience in the story itself. In the credits or author’s notes at the end, however, she does lecture. I liked the story and the writing. I could have done without her sermon. The story itself made me see things in a different light. The author’s comments, to me, were overkill. I do understand though why she feels the need to explain herself. It was my first time reading this author. I will read more of her stuff. I just won’t listen to any author notes. I loved the performance by the readers. All three were good, especially Audra Mc Donald (I believe I have her name right).
