I have been a massive fan of Mark Lawrence since I stumbled onto prince of thorns. From the the first page, I knew I had found something special, and I have read everything he has published since. This trilogy has far surpassed all of his previous works! It is a very different story from his other series, which is not a bad thing at all. The quick pacing, lovable characters, and tension of the inevitable conclusion are planned out so well that you don’t see it coming at the end. No spoilers here...but let’s just say he closes the loop in a fantastic and imaginative (yet believable) way! The narration is fantastic and each character is given their own voice and unique canter. This is superlative work all around!

Lawrence at his best!

I’ve read every one of mark lawrence’s series, and this is by far the most engaging story yet. Full of twists and turns, with plenty of call backs to a decade I grew up in. The story was energetic, fast paced, and it never seems to slow down. I cannot wait to see if he writes a sequel to this brilliant book!
