Slow
Revisado: 04-18-25
A lot of characters to keep straight. Somewhat slow moving. No great big reveal. Just a slow murder mystery. Entertaining enough I guess.

Historia
When Grace Emerson's ex-fiancé starts dating her younger sister, extreme measures are called for. To keep everyone from obsessing about her love life, Grace announces that she's seeing someone. Someone wonderful. Someone handsome. Someone completely made up. Who is this Mr. Right? Someone - exactly unlike her renegade neighbor, Callahan O'Shea. Well, someone with his looks, maybe. His hot body. His knife-sharp sense of humor. His smarts and big heart.

Very engaging. Great character development. The only thing I didn’t like was Damian’s voice when Abby was narrating. It was creepy.

Historia
It’s a beautiful day in Newport, Rhode Island, when Phoebe Stone arrives at the grand Cornwall Inn wearing a green dress and gold heels, not a bag in sight, alone. She's immediately mistaken by everyone in the lobby for one of the wedding people, but she’s actually the only guest at the Cornwall who isn’t here for the big event. Phoebe is here because she’s dreamed of coming for years—she hoped to shuck oysters and take sunset sails with her husband, only now she’s here without him, at rock bottom, and determined to have one last decadent splurge on herself.

Terrible narration
Revisado: 10-16-24
Out of all the books in the series this was by far the absolute worst. The only narration that was partially tolerable was Simon and Rush. They weren’t characters previously developed as adults in the other books. The rest, OMG horrendous. I mean, what were the author and editor thinking to allow this? Black sounded like a big doofus. Snow sounded like a giant, shallow queen. I couldn’t even differentiate the other’s personalities. It was really awful! I suppose reading it would have been fine but audible was awful. Christopher sounded like a mafia cartoon character. Oh and if they said it once they said it 5 times that one or the other of Simon or Rush had “blown pupils”. Typically, blown pupils are seen in response to brain damage caused by trauma or stroke. I understand they’re trying to indicate extreme sexual arousal but that is the most annoying expression.
