Historia
When a failed entrepreneur is temporarily left in charge of his aunt's huge gothic home, he knows he must be able to make a profit from it somehow. Murder, he decides, is the only way to do it. For Madingley Grange is the perfect venue for a 1930s murder-mystery weekend, and Simon Hannaford – with the reluctant help of his long-suffering sister – soon hatches a plan for money-spinning mayhem. From the conservatory to the claret cellar, the clues are carefully sprinkled. But when the guests arrive, it is obvious that the game won't be going as planned.

Nothing
Revisado: 10-31-24
I don’t know about this book. I kept waiting for something to happen to have it make sense of a murder mystery weekend. Instead it just droned on and on and nothing happened. I listened to almost the whole book and when I realized that I could stop listening and not miss a thing I just quit.
It isn’t that it is not any good at all. It reminds me of an Agatha Christie story except with miss christies books at least something happened to a person going forward. Right down to the last couple of hours and nothing in this story.
I just do not get the whole point of the story. I need a point at least at the half way finished mark

What stood out most? The main character needing to mind her own business
Revisado: 03-31-24
I wrote up my review and realized that it was harsh. That being the case I backspaced it all out and will just say I have liked all the books prior to this one. I haven’t finished this one and probably won’t finish it. The main character is absolutely nerve wracking, and the narration, to me, has too many hard stops. It doesn’t flow from one sentence to another and that is driving me nuts.

Like to story line but
Revisado: 11-30-23
I like the story line and the series. But about mid book I was so tired of hearing the sister I almost stopped listening. I mean seriously, who constantly calls their sister “sister” ? Don’t they have names?
Other than irritating thing I liked the book

These books just keep getting better. The narrator is fine, nothing to complain about there. The story was good and I am moving on to the next as soon as I finish this review!

Historia
Stephanie Plum, Trenton’s hardest working, most underappreciated bounty hunter, is offered an assignment that seems simple enough. Local jeweler Martin Rabner wants her to locate his former security guard, Andy Manley (a.k.a. Nutsy), who he is convinced stole a fortune in diamonds from his safe. Stephanie is also looking for another troubled man, Duncan Dugan, a fugitive from justice arrested for robbing the same jewelry store on the same day.

Historia
May 1912. After the previous year’s deadly heatwave, it’s been an uneventful spring in Littleton Cotterell. Though for Lady Hardcastle and her fiercely loyal lady’s maid Flo, at least there are the provincial delights of the village’s inaugural art exhibition—and bicycle race—to look forward to. But at the exhibition opening, there’s a panicked shout of ‘Fire!’ In the confusion, the main attraction—an extremely expensive book—is stolen from under everyone’s nose, as is a valuable painting lent by Sir Hector Farley-Stroud.

I just gave up…
Revisado: 07-11-23
I had two hours app to go but I just couldn’t finish it. I have loved all the books up until this one. This one just droned on and on and on… same ole same ole….
I will check out the next in the series if there is a next but OMG I hope it’s better than this one. It’s almost as if someone else wrote this book and the original author had nothing to do with it. I hope her ideas have not ran dry….
Could I have done a better job? Absolutely not, but then again, I am not an author…

Story good but
Revisado: 08-09-21
The story is good. I love Hamish and all the books I have listened so far. Only thing I wish is that the narrator “performed “ the book instead of just reading it. The other narrator Shaun performed the story, and had a different voice for each character in the story and was so good at the voices he created that you knew which character was speaking. With this narrator the voices all sound the same and I can’t tell one from the other almost all the time.
I have pretty much gave up on that and just listen as it’s being read.
