Terrible
Revisado: 11-11-21
So badly narrated it is impossible to describe. The story itself is pedestrian. Don’t waste a credit.

Total Cop of Craig Alansen
Revisado: 09-27-21
RC Bray clearly enjoyed doing this book and he saves an otherwise pedestrian cop of the Expeditionary Force series. An omniscient AI rifle? Clever by half.

Historia
From coast to coast, our nation is witnessing a new wave of terror. Suicide bombers incite blind panic and paralyzing fear. A flight attendant tries to crash an airliner. A police officer opens fire on fans in a stadium. And at CIA headquarters, a deputy director goes on a murderous rampage. The perpetrators appear to be American - but they are covert agents in a vast network of terror, selected and trained for one purpose only: the complete annihilation of America.

Simply Terrible
Revisado: 09-09-20
This book was so badly narrated that I was unsure as to the actual quality of the story. That is, I was unsure until the end when the author channels Clive Cussler and concocts something so totally improbable that I had to listen a second time to be sure I wasn't missing something. Nope! Just stupid.

Historia
After saving the world many times, the Merry Band of Pirates have accepted the inevitable: Earth is doomed. All they can do is try to bring a few thousand people to safety, before vicious aliens arrive to destroy humanity's home world. No. There is one other thing they can do: hit the enemy so hard that the aliens will regret they ever heard of humans.

What's Not To Love....However
Revisado: 04-30-20
I have really enjoyed this series. Alanson's writing and story are top notch with lots of action, interesting interplay, great characters, outstanding dialog and R.C. Bray is the perfect narrator. So why the caveat? After 9 novels I'm starting to wear out. If this story is endless or transitions without a clear resolution I will be sorely disappointed. I know you have a winner here Craig but isn't it about time to wrap this up? One or perhaps two more -- tops.

Historia
In ancient texts, there are stories about men who struck from the shadows, seemingly beyond the reach of death itself. These men were considered part angel, part demon. Their loyalty was to their families, their friends, and their kings. You crossed these men at your peril. And once crossed, there was no crossing back. They were fearless; men of honor who have been known throughout history by different names: Spartan, Viking, Samurai.

Historia
Alexander Grant is a little too good at a few too many things. Two dozen martial arts. Twice that many languages. Chess, the piano, sports, forging excused absences, you name it. He graduated high school top of his class 17 times. Of course, no one knows any of this. Not that he wants to go unnoticed. It’s just safer that way.

Engaging Story
Revisado: 06-26-19
The story was engaging, character development was generally good although a bit trite in a few instances. Perhaps that is due to the teenage nature of some of the characters. Wheaton does a marvelous job with New England accents but his Russian sounds like a Klingon attempting Pig Latin. The story is somewhat of a Perils of Pauline at times attempting too hard to keep up action. The author should develop more ebb and flow to enrich this tale. I am likely to try another in the series, but I'll voice this concern up front: I'm all in for a trilogy but not an Odyssey.

Historia
In 1984 a doomsday vault was constructed on a remote island in the Arctic Ocean. Its purpose was to preserve Earth's genetic history in the event of a global catastrophe. Now, decades later, a second vault has been uncovered. This one resting where no one ever expected. And the problem is, it's not ours. Yet even more curious than the vault itself is what lies inside. Seeds. Millions of seeds. Each with a genetic embryo untouched and perfectly preserved. Waiting. No one knows who built it. Or when.

I burnt 3 credits on this series. Won’t waste another. Story waivers between interesting and ludicrous. Scott Brick becomes a cliche of himself by over dramatizing some passages that just can’t be saved. To sum up my thoughts: dolphins jump the shark.

Video Game?
Revisado: 03-03-17
This book is simply terrible. One suspects the author is recording the action of a video game once played to conclusion. The descriptions are trite when not grossly redundant. The action quickly becomes laborious. Punch my hacker card cause I listened to the end, but only to prove I could. Will not purchase another in this series, by this author or by this narrator. To be fair, not even Scott Brick could have saved this piece of trash.

Historia
Dirk Pitt, the director of the National Underwater and Marine Agency, is on the Black Sea, helping to locate a lost Ottoman shipwreck, when he responds to an urgent Mayday - "under attack!" - from a nearby freighter. But when he and his colleague, Al Giordino, arrive, there is nobody there. Just dead bodies, a smell of sulfur in the air, and, as Pitt and Giordino explore, a blast from the stern that scuttles the ship swiftly, almost taking them with it.

Clussler Jumps the Shark
Revisado: 11-28-16
As with all Scott Brick read books this is an easy listen. This is typical of Cussler's fun yarns, good story and fun to escape to. I just have to call this one out on a most ridiculous and laughable scene/chapter that had me declaring out loud "No!!!!! He didn't do that!" Jumped the shark with this one.
