Historia
Now reduced to a schoolyard chant, the Hope family murders shocked the Maine coast one bloody night in 1929. While most people assume seventeen-year-old Lenora was responsible, the police were never able to prove it. Other than her denial after the killings, she has never spoken publicly about that night, nor has she set foot outside Hope’s End, the cliffside mansion where the massacre occurred.

How did this get such good reviews?
Revisado: 02-27-24
The narration was exceptional, but the story was garbage. Twisty? Yes! Sensible? Not at all. No one acted like a rational human being. The protagonist was whiny and jumped to conclusions like it was an Olympic event. I would have thrown the book across the room at the very end if I had not been listening in the car.

Historia
On the Moon’s far side, shielded from Earth’s radio cacophony, Americans are building a radio-astronomy observatory. Russians sift the dust of a lunar “sea” for helium-3 to run future fusion reactors. Commercial robots, remotely operated from Earth, roam the Moon’s near side in a hunt for mineral wealth. Why chase distant asteroids for precious metals? One-time asteroids must lie close beneath the much-bombarded lunar surface. Then a prospecting robot encounters a desiccated, spacesuited figure. An alien figure.

I love sci-fi and this is one of the best that I have listened to in a while. The writing was good and I loved the characters. The narrators were perfect and really immersed you into the story.

Harriett Barnett doesn’t care for dens of iniquity - or the insolent cowboy she certainly shouldn’t find attractive. But one of her students needs her help, and if she needs to corral the infamous Jensen to save him, she will. Trouble is, the town’s favorite Kittredge brother is a lot more than she bargained for. Harriett's happy little life is orderly and neat, just how she likes it - until Jensen blows it all apart with his particular brand of addictive passion. I will be with this cowboy ALL NIGHT LONG
Revisado: 04-02-22
This book was so sweet and so romantic! The story was good, but the romance sold the book. Kipiniak is one of the best narrators on audible and this book shows why. He really sucks you in and makes you feel part of the story.

I picked up this book because Kipiniak is one of my favorite narrators. I was skeptical reading this because I don't do much romance, but the reader and the story sucked me in. I will definitely read other "Kittredge Ranch" novels.

Historia
Thirty years ago, Wilde was found as a boy living feral in the woods, with no memory of his past. Now an adult, he still doesn't know where he comes from, and another child has gone missing. No one seems to take Naomi Pine's disappearance seriously, not even her father - with one exception. Hester Crimstein, a television criminal attorney, knows through her grandson that Naomi was relentlessly bullied at school. Hester asks Wilde - with whom she shares a tragic connection - to use his unique skills to help find Naomi.

Mediocre and a bit offensive.
Revisado: 10-10-20
Coben seemed to have 3 or 4 ideas for characters and mashed them into one book. These characters were not even good ideas; Wylde's interesting past did not make him interesting and the Hester was obnoxious. The character Hester bothered me particularly as strong, competent, smart women do not have to be rude, snarky and loud.
If you are at the beginning of the book and think that it will get better, I assure you that it won't.

Historia
Building on the foundation laid by Moshe Feldenkrais, Thomas Hanna's groundbreaking work completely redefines the body's potential for withstanding decline. His gentle program for the mind and body proves once and for all that so many problems we accept as inevitable over time - chronic stiffness, bad back, chronic pain, fatigue, and, at times, even high blood pressure - need never occur if we maintain conscious control of nerve and muscle, replacing Sensory-Motor Amnesia with Sensory-Motor Awareness.

I really hope it works!
Revisado: 09-12-20
The book itself is great; the narrator and the author make you enthusiastic and optimistic about all the messages and exercises. The narrator made the book a pleasant listen and I literally wanted to jump out of the car to try the exercises.
My only qualms with the book was that a lot of the content was describing the success stories and not enough of how to utilize the principles. I have suffered with back pain for years and am eager to try anything that works without drugs or surgery. I don't think that there is enough in this book to 'cure me' but if I see improvement I will definitely pursue somatics classes.

Historia
Maddison James is about to discover some truths about the world. Firstly...supernaturals exist. WTF? Secondly...she is one, even though no one seems to know exactly what kind. Double WTF. Thirdly...she’s about to go back to school. Well, things just got a little more interesting. The Supernatural Academy is where shifters, vampires, magic users, and fey are educated. Where they are taught about their abilities, and how to function in the human world. Maddison already has the human part down, but this supernatural thing is an entirely new dangerous game.

Cute story, amateurish writing.
Revisado: 08-04-20
This book is devoid of any originality and the character 'snorts' about every 5 minutes. I think that the author has promise, but this story is mediocre by any standard.

Historia
The United States has the most expensive healthcare system in the world. While policy makers have argued over who is at fault for this, the system has been quietly moving toward high-deductible insurance plans that require patients to pay large amounts out of pocket before insurance kicks in. The idea behind this shift is that patients will become better consumers of healthcare when forced to pay for their medical expenses.

Well thought out book with an excellent reader.
Revisado: 05-29-20
This book is clear ad comprehensive. It explains many of the flaws in our healthcare system and how they injure the American people. Some may disagree with the author's conclusions but the explanations behind his argument are well done.
Some may find the book a bit dry, but the narrator Chris Kipiniak makes the book a great listen. Kipiniak's voice is clear and forthright; his tempo was perfect for this book.

Believe the hype, way too long
Revisado: 03-05-20
The writing is excellent, the narrations is excellent but I gave up by hour 14. I found myself hoping that it would end. I also found many of the charachter descending into charicature. I thought the depiction of the naive, repressed Catholic girl was vaguely malicious and mysogynistic.

Revisado: 11-09-19
I loved this book. Great heroine, she is smart, complex and hurt. She is not overly snarky, not overly trite and she is a really likable heroine. Was it fantastic? Sure, but who wants to read a hum-dum thriller? The narration was great.
