I’m a fan of the Gamache series but cannot listen to the new narrator. He lacks sensitivity to characters & dynamics. I’m returning it unfinished.

This volume left me yearning for the next developments for each character- I experienced less emotional engagement but love the shifts each character is making. Gerard Doyle perfect!

What would have made The Keeper of Lost Causes better?
The narration is terrible: forced, inaccurate, and studded with repeated incorrect pronunciation. A frustrating distraction from the story.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
The narration was so distracting that it blunted the suspense.
What didn’t you like about Erik Davies’s performance?
The use of accents that were inaccurate, pretentious and ever changing.Erik Davies' reading sabotaged the book.

I will not buy the next two books in this series if the same narrator is used.
