What!?! Wow...really????
Revisado: 09-23-20
I have listened to 4 Lynn Austin books in the last month alone. I love how she writes. So when I started with A Proper Pursuit I felt disappointed. I almost return the book by Chapter 2. It was so different from her others. I am so glad I continued to listen... it is now my favorite!!!! Captivating, funny, and educational to boot. I am not a review writer but I had to encourage others to read this awesome book.

Historia
The funny and talented Chip Gaines is well known to millions of people as a TV star, renovation expert, bestselling author, husband to Joanna, and father of four in Waco, Texas. But long before the world took notice, Chip was a serial entrepreneur who was always ready for the next challenge. Whether it was buying a neighborhood laundromat or talking a bank into a loan for some equipment to start a lawn-mowing service, Chip always knew that the most important thing was to take that first step.

Revisado: 08-09-18
What a GREAT book! I am smarter because of Chip's "stupid stuff" shared. I was entertained and learned a lot about the Gaines' too. What an amazing family who puts God first, then family, then business and all else in that order. I felt like I was having a cup of Joe (pun intended) while listening to him read.

Historia
A successful LA artist, Roman Velasco appears to have everything he could possibly want - money, women, fame. Only Grace Moore, his reluctant, newly hired personal assistant, knows how little he truly has. The demons of Roman's past seem to echo through the halls of his empty mansion and out across his breathtaking Topanga Canyon view. But Grace doesn't know how her boss secretly wrestles with those demons: by tagging buildings as the Bird, a notorious but unidentified graffiti artist - an alter ego that could destroy his career and land him in prison.

One of the BEST!
Revisado: 08-09-18
My husband listened to this amazing book with me. We were so intrigued...so hooked that while listening to it we took an Alaskan cruise. While at sea we would lie in bed and listen to the book between meals :) We even talked about the characters and the storyline for days after. This truly is one of my favorite books, not only by Francine Rivers but EVER!

Favorite book I've "read" in years!
Revisado: 02-23-18
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
So captivating..so well read. The characters are Welsh and the reading using that accent. Starts out a little slow but then...I was taking the long way home just to keep listening. I mourned when the book ended. I know have 2 friends listening to it because I recommend it so highly.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
YES!!!

Wow..can not get enough!
Revisado: 05-11-16
What did you love best about Ladies of Liberty?
Okie does an amazing job weaving the lives from actual letters together to paint a full picture.
What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?
You really get to know the Adams family and their dynamics from John's presidency to John Quincy's.
Which character – as performed by Cokie Roberts – was your favorite?
I smile now when I hear her voice. She is a wonderful story teller both in her writing a ready of it.
What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?
Louisa Adams who is married to John Quincy was quite a remarkable lady. She made a forty-day journey across war-ravaged Europe by coach in winter. Roving bands of stragglers and highwaymen filled her with "unspeakable terrors" for her son trying to get to John.
