Historia
For 30 years, a tiny band of humans has been sheltering in the caverns of an airless, crater-pocked world called Michaelmas. Beyond their solar system lie the ruins of human interstellar civilization, stalked by a ruthless, infinitely patient cybernetic entity determined to root out the last few bands of survivors. One man has guided the people of Michaelmas through the hardest of times and given them hope against the wolves: Miguel de Ruyter.

Tough to finish
Revisado: 01-17-22
John Lee, awesome as usual.
The story, to me, was slow compared to The Prefect. Action scenes were few and far with characters that tend speak every little thought that happens to cross their minds. Usually I marathon listen thru Alister Reynolds’s stories but this one was a struggle.

Historia
The Mechanics and the Mages have been bitter rivals, agreeing only on the need to keep the world they rule from changing. But now a Storm approaches, one that could sweep away everything humans have built. Only one person has any chance of uniting enough of Dematr behind her to stop the Storm, but the Great Guilds and many others will stop at nothing to defeat her.

Just OK...
Revisado: 07-02-15
Not good, just OK. Lots of character dialogue. Not a lot of story action. Could have made it more interesting in half the time.

Historia
America faces a full-scale socioeconomic collapse in the near future. The stock market plummets, hyperinflation cripples commerce and the mounting crisis passes the tipping point. Practically overnight, the fragile chains of supply and high-technology infrastructure fall, and wholesale rioting and looting grip every major city.

Guns and God forever
Revisado: 04-22-15
As other reviewers have said this is a good resource for a Prepper. Lots of useful information given. The novel portion and yes, it is a novel, speaks to every Christian fundamentalist, anti- government, gun-nut's dream. I think Hugh's review from 6/5/12 says it all.

Historia
Marsalis is one of a new breed...literally. Genetically engineered by the U.S. government to embody the naked aggression and primal survival skills that centuries of civilization have erased from humankind, Thirteens were intended to be the ultimate military fighting force. The project was scuttled, however, when a fearful public branded the supersoldiers dangerous mutants, dooming the Thirteens to forced exile on Earth's distant, desolate Mars colony. But Marsalis found a way to slip back.

Great listen!
Revisado: 03-01-15
This is an exciting and well thought out book. It's unexpected twists make it hard to put down. I was reluctant at first to spend a credit based on some of the reviews but, I think it's a first rate story that I'll listen to again. I can't wait to listen to more of this author's work.

Clamity and Sparks?!
Revisado: 03-14-14
Is there anything you would change about this book?
The vocabulary. Its like it was written for pre-teens. I like Brandon Sanderson and that's why I got this book but, its very different from his previous works. Sorry, It just wasn't for me.
What do you think your next listen will be?
Nothing from this series.
What aspect of Macleod Andrews’s performance would you have changed?
No problem with the narrator.
Could you see Steelheart being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
No - this is the wrong storyline for a movie - IMHO
