When Lane Coolman's car is bashed from behind on the road to the Florida Keys, what appears to be an ordinary accident is anything but (this is Hiaasen!). Behind the wheel of the other car is Merry Mansfield - the eponymous Razor Girl - and the crash scam is only the beginning of events that spiral crazily out of control while unleashing some of the wildest characters Hiaasen has ever set loose.

very entertaining
Revisado: 05-02-25
lots of characters and the story woven around them draws you into this production. It is slightly raunchy, full disclosure, but it is amusing enough that you can get beyond it..

A good listen with twists to it
Revisado: 01-22-25
I enjoy the twist and turns of this book and the narrator. She does a very good job with the voices and just her inflections in her reading style.

Historia
For 10 years Lucy has enjoyed her job poring over rare tomes of literature for the Harvard Library, but she has not enjoyed the demands of her family's social whorl or her sort-of engagement to the staid son of her father's law partner. But when her 10-year relationship implodes, Lucy realizes that the plot of her life is in need of a serious rewrite.

not my favorite, but not terrible
Revisado: 10-14-23
The story has a slow start, good finish. The narrators many voices were not necessary and the accents were overdone and became annoying. The ending has a bit of a twist and I love the location and the cat! Great description of the lighthouse library.

My name is Lou Prescott. I was born in South Carolina but spent most of my life in Northern Minnesota. Since the death of my husband, I've found myself at loose ends, so when my niece offered to sell me the quaint seaside bookstore she owned in Holiday Bay, Maine, I jumped at the opportunity to restart my life somewhere new.

Not For Me
Revisado: 09-17-23
I could not finish listening to this story. The accents were irritatingly unnatural
and sometimes were not always there.
The story was also rather slow even by cozy standards.

not worth the credit
Revisado: 12-12-22
The narrator of this book was so monotonous with little or no inflection in her voice. I never got made it past the first chapter. The title was intriguing, and I believe I have read other books by the author, but I will not be “listening “ again if it’s the same narrator.

Historia
From the author of the classic mysteries starring the irrepressible CIA spy, Mrs. Pollifax, comes a delightfully different mystery with a most unholy twist. Filled with all the hilarious surprises and good old-fashioned suspense that her fans have come to love, A Nun in the Closet is the story of two high-spirited nuns who accidentally stumble into a dangerous plot involving ghosts, gangsters, and Protestants.

might be better to read the book
Revisado: 11-29-22
The storyline is cute, but it doesn’t flow as easily as her Mrs. Pollifax books do. The reader of this book changes voices for the same people and it’s often hard to tell who is talking . Her voice is
not very animated. I do not recommend this book as an audible.

Historia
On a steamy August evening, after an exhausting day in the courtroom, Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cooper joins her longtime pals and partners-in-investigation, NYPD detectives Mike Chapman and Mercer Wallace, at a somber crime site. In her ten years as a sex crimes prosecutor, Alex has seen many victims, but few more poignant than today's, pulled from the water with her hands and feet obscenely tied to a ladder. Sleep comes uneasily after such a vision, but the knowledge that monsters walk the city's streets, preying on the innocent, motivates Alex and her colleagues with their sometimes heartbreaking work. Perhaps this time they will be lucky. A "cold hit" will match DNA from the crime scene with a suspect's DNA profile in the police database. Or is there a more sinister kind of "cold hit" that claimed the victims life in this case? Who was she? Her elegant clothes and manicured nails suggest affluent connections, but just how well connected suprises even Alex. Illuminating and inspiring, Cold Hit takes us from the paint-chipped offices of cops and D.A.s to the elegant restaurants of Alex's privileged Upper East Side life. The contrast is stunning, but it's all part of the extraordinary world that author Linda Fairstein has brought so vividly to life in this magnificent novel of suspense.

Where is Barbara Rosenblat?
Revisado: 11-25-18
Allison Janney reads this book and if you have listened to any of Linda Fairstein's books read by Barbara Rosenblat this reading will be very disappointing. It also is abridged which I hadn't noticed when I purchased it. The story is good as are all Linda Fairstein's stories but this one as an abridged book is definitely not worth a month's credit.
