Good Ole JRs Masterpiece
Revisado: 09-22-24
I've read all of Jim's books and enjoyed them all. But this one is special. Jim takes us behind the curtain or black hat as he'd say to discuss his famous calls and moments. I enjoyed the performance in the book and thought it was to the point and interesting. I enjoyed thus more than his other books as he has shown us his own mortality. I know one day the voice will be gone and our childhood will go with it. But through this talking book he will live forever. Love ya JR!

Dont Bother With This Book
Revisado: 12-03-23
Bought this after seeing the Author on various talk shows promoting the book. Was really enjoying the touching story. At some particular point of each chapter it brought me to tears. Relating to the author as my own Father has passed away. And then came the chapter of meeting and speaking to a US President. And of course had to get political and bash the then current President. Just another piece of material that just loves to bash and pile on to the current media narrative. Why cant this be left out of a touching book. Why get political in a book not about politics. Someone needs to remind the author that Republicans buy books too. The author also narrated the book. Was so mundane that it often times put me to sleep. I returned the book after the Presidents bashing so I don't know how it ends. Will also toss the physical book in my recycling bin and send it to the curb where this book belongs.

Loved this book
Revisado: 01-16-23
Came across this book and figured to give it a try as I had enjoyed Genna Davis in movies. This Story is both interesting and informative. I really enjoyed the stories about her family and her imitations of her parents especially her Mom really cracked me up. Her journey to stardom and beyond was interesting and had good stories from the set. I encourage others to read this as well. An easy fun read…now I’m going to watch one of her movies again.

Historia
After his December 2003 arrest, registered nurse Charlie Cullen was quickly dubbed "The Angel of Death" by the media. But Cullen was no mercy killer, nor was he a simple monster. He was a favorite son, husband, beloved father, best friend, and celebrated caregiver. Implicated in the deaths of as many as 300 patients, he was also perhaps the most prolific serial killer in American history.

Historia
The tranquility of a luxury cruise along the Nile was shattered by the discovery that Linnet Ridgeway had been shot through the head. She was young, stylish, and beautiful. A girl who had everything...until she lost her life. Hercule Poirot recalled an earlier outburst by a fellow passenger: “I’d like to put my dear little pistol against her head and just press the trigger.” Yet under the searing heat of the Egyptian sun, nothing is ever quite what it seems.

Great read
Revisado: 01-29-22
Another fine read from Agatha Christie. Really enjoyed all the complex characters in the story. The book had several twists and turns and in the end had a good pay off. My only complaint was the performer reading the book. His accents were so difficult to understand that I wound up reading the actual book and listening along during certain parts. I just wish he would have read the book and not acted it out.

Historia
Whether she’s playing an “age-defying” book editor on television or dazzling audiences on the Broadway stage, Sutton Foster manages to make it all look easy. How? Crafting. From the moment she picked up a cross stitch needle to escape the bullying chorus girls in her early performing days, she was hooked. Cross stitching led to crocheting, crocheting led to collages, which led to drawing, and so much more. Channeling her emotions into her creations centered Sutton as she navigated the significant moments in her life and gave her tangible reminders of her experiences.

Revisado: 01-15-22
What a great book from the multi talented Sutton Foster! I really enjoyed the journey that the author took me on. Telling details of her life and career while mixing in how crocheting was an important part of her life. Not only is Sutton a talented writer and actress but an amazing broadway performer. I recommend this book and also urge everyone to see Sutton perform live on a Broadway stage. Brava Sutton!

Revisado: 07-10-21
I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Growing up as a child watching the Love Boat I knew about Gavin. Recently started to re watch the Love Boat on a streaming service and enjoyed it all over again. Stumbled across the book and was pleasantly surprised. His stores were funny and his journey is pretty remarkable. Any fan of his will really enjoy the book. Hearing him read with his New York accent was also enjoyable. Sadly he passed while I was reading and the end kinda hit home when he discussed when. His final days would come. He might be with the Lord now but his legacy will live on forever in these pages and on our screens.

Murder Mystery with Romance
Revisado: 04-29-21
Read an article on possible books that should be made into Netflix shows and this book was on the list. With that decided to give it a try.
I enjoyed the banter between characters as well as its clever writing. Most of the characters were fun and interesting.
The story moves along and is easy to follow. I did find the narrator to be a bit bland and listening you can almost hear the narrator getting dry mouth and spit into the microphone. That made it a bit distracting at times. Otherwise a good read that’s not too long but not too short. Would say to give it a chance.

Revisado: 03-10-21
Really thought provoking and insightful look into the Trump White House from someone who was right on the front lines. I enjoyed the various stories she told about her time in the Trump White House. Hearing these stories first hand were both fun and informative. Sarah has always been a tough woman to have dealt with what was thrown at her. She is an inspiration to women everywhere. Highly recommend this enjoyable book. Good luck with the Governor run Sarah.

Sideways: Chile follows the further adventures of Miles Raymond (played by Paul Giamatti in the critically acclaimed movie Sideways). It’s now a few years later and Miles is a successful author with a blockbuster movie adaptation under his belt, but he’s still searching for something, and depression has him, once again, in its taloned grip. Final Chapter in Sideways Trilogy
Revisado: 12-15-20
Say it ain’t so! The final chapter in the Sideways trilogy comes to a funny and tender end. While it wasn’t as good as the two previous novels I still enjoyed it. To me it was a bit too short and I kinda liked it when Myles was with other people on his journey. I did like the banter between Myles and Silvio. All in all a decent funny read.
