Historia
After three marriages and a lot of living, resilient Billie Slate knows exactly what trouble love can bring. Now she’s reinvented herself as the Heartbreak Bunny, an on-call performance artist who can heal anyone who’s been burned by that four-letter word, LOVE, by hopping about and whisking away sad mementos from their past relationships. Call it magic. Call it peculiar. But her bunny costume is as perfect as her breakup mantra: SNAP OUT OF IT.

Historia
It’s the summer of ’77 in New York City, and the only thing more unnerving than the scorching heatwave is the rampant murder, leaving washed-up homicide detective Richard Dietrich on edge. When Dietrich investigates a brutal mob hit the brass doesn’t want him to solve, he goes from phoning it in to getting in over his head. Caught up in a mysterious second homicide with an even more perplexing perpetrator, Dietrich starts to second guess his instincts—and his memory—as he searches for answers at the bottom of a bottle.

Enjoyable Story
Revisado: 04-14-24
The story kept my interest from beginning to end. It was plausible and easy to identify with Nya's predicament. You think you know what's happening then it takes another turn. I recommend this book it has a nice rhythm and is an easy listen. The narrator enhanced the story with just the right tone and pace.

Just Okay
Revisado: 04-30-23
If you are just looking for an escape from books filled with sex and violence you probably will like this book. It's about the exploits of three octogenarians that start a detective agency. It's not a hold on to the edge of your seat thriller it's more of a mildly entertaining mellow ride. The narrator did a good job.

Worth listening
Revisado: 04-10-23
There were a number of unexpected paths on the journey to reconstructing what happened to Amelia. The introduction of the various characters and side story lines kept me guessing to the very end. It's worth the listen. I also enjoyed the narrator. Her voice and energy complemented the story.

Enjoyed every minute of this story.
Revisado: 03-20-23
This was such a great story. There are two main stories, the legal and the personal, both kept me engaged. The author made me care about the main character, his work as an attorney, his family and his personal struggles with both. I also really enjoyed the story about the pro bono case, the prisoner and the ethical and moral dilemma it presented. The narrator's delivery is perfect for this story. It is comfortably paced and warm. He does a great job conveying each persons perspective. I highly recommend this book and hope for more In the future from this author.

Overall kept my interest. None of the main characters are very likeable. But, I kept listening as I was curious how it was going to end. The ending was not very believable. I thought the narrator did a good job. So, overall it was just ok.

Meh
Revisado: 01-13-23
This is one of those slow starter books. It is a little boring. It picks up about a fourth way into the book. I hung in until the end as I was curious about the outcome. I listened to it more as a background while doing other tasks.
