Very, very, very looooong - but creative.
Revisado: 11-21-24
It was a creative story. A bit long and drawn out but I am glad that I went the distance and finished it. I can see by the other reviews that I am an outlier since I didn’t love it. Besides not being a fan of the length, I was also highly annoyed by the overuse of the word “perhaps”. If I were in my 20’s still, I could play a 15 min clip from this book and have a very effective drinking game on hand.

Unimaginably amazing!!
Revisado: 03-15-23
I have the biggest sweet tooth of anyone I know, often out eating the children on Easter and Halloween. My sweet tooth has been the butt of family jokes as well as my comfort companion when the day wasn’t going my way. That said, I searched this out since I am getting older and know that I need to cut back on sugar or my health will pay the price.
Let me just say that the Easter candy had come out right before listening and I had purchased 3 bags of my favorite jelly beans and several other Easter favorites the day I downloaded this..
I gave this a half-hearted casual listen at first. I was a bit distracted and not following the initial instructions. My intention was just to check it out and, if I liked it, immerse myself in it when I had the time. Well, the 40 minute initial listen was over and I was feeling a little dazed despite listening eyes wide open. I looked over at my bag of jellybeans just waiting to be snacked on and the uncontrollable urge I always have to dig in was not there. They may have well been a bag of rocks. It wasn’t disgust, it wasn’t denial, they were just there and looking rather unappealing. Since that day, all things sugary have had the same blah appeal. It is absolutely amazing. My family is astounded. I cannot recommend this enough. I have since listened to it several times the right way and I always have this feeling of complete relaxation when done. I feel so fortunate to have this gem in my tool box. Thank you Mr Benjamin Bonetti! I have since purchased many other of his titles and am looking forward to using them to curve some of my other pernicious habits.

Historia
Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered in "The Satan Sacrifice of Kinnakee, Kansas". As her family lay dying, little Libby fled their tiny farmhouse into the freezing January snow. She lost some fingers and toes, but she survived, and famously testified that her 15-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, Ben sits in prison, and troubled Libby lives off the dregs of a trust created by well-wishers who've long forgotten her.

Not my cup of tea...
Revisado: 09-10-16
It was well written since it kept my attention enough to finish it, however it is dark and gets pretty graphic... I gave this genre a try but I don't think it's for me.
It was well read - I give the narrators top marks

First audio book I cannot finish
Revisado: 07-16-16
I've listened to several Nora Roberts books and have found them interesting and entertaining. I am not sure what happened here... This book is predictable, sappy, and there isn't one character I am fond of. There is also a lot of dialogue from a 3 year old and the readers baby voice was like nails on a chalkboard for me.
