Worth getting to finish their story

It was good but Devout was better. This just felt unnecessarily long and drawn out. I’m not usually a person that fast forwards, but I couldn’t take the overly detailed description of everything on top of drawing out the story. It would have been perfect in 8 -10 hrs instead of 18. You won’t go wrong getting the book, but don’t be afraid to fast forward. It will be easy to tell what you can skip.

I didn’t expect to like this one, but the comments convinced me to give it a try. I’m so glad I did! I love Denny’s brand of crazy 😂, he is that book bae kind of crazy. He is not at all creepy crazy which is what I was worried about. I also love that mental illness is addressed by medication and therapy.

I was surprised by how much I LOVED it

I didn’t know how I’d feel about the spectrum angle, but it was so well done! Covina had her things, but I appreciated she was not at all walked over or to be pitied and could give as much as she got. Story had just enough drama but it wasn’t dragged out unnecessarily long. There were quite a few laugh out loud funny moments. I loved the relationship development between Jasper and Covina’s dad. My only criticism is the male lead’s voice didn’t really match up to the cover/character. He wasn’t bad, it just didn’t give me enough edge. All around a great story. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Cute story, but this narration 😳

The story is cute, not amazing but not bad. It’s an easy listen. I usually like Charlie L. Wood’s narration, but this attempt at a southern accent is not working. Even speeding it up her attempted southern drawl is unbearably slow.

Some of the reviews had me concerned that it would be heavy, but the past was addressed, but the book wasn’t about broken people hurting each other repeatedly because of their past. I loved that therapy was embraced and not a last resort. I don’t usually reread books but this is one I’d read again.

Keep reading it’s worth it

This was a slow burn that ended up being my favorite in the series. The story and character development were both a little drawn out, but by the end I was so invested in this toxic love story Dessy and Bunny are my favorite couple so far. They are the most lovable toxic trio (can’t leave out granny) ever. You can fast forward some parts but unlike most unnecessarily long books I wasn’t annoyed by the excess because it was so well written. I also appreciated that their trauma wasn’t drawn out to the point the story was depressing. The trauma existed and always there but the story wasn’t sad.

AMAZING!!! You will love it

I can’t believe I had not heard of Belle DaCosta Green before now. Her story is simply amazing and Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray did a wonderful job bringing her to life. I really hope the two of them do more work together in the future!
