Historia
When an unknown someone shoots him and leaves him to die, Harry Dresden hopes he might be heading to a better place. Unfortunately being dead doesn't make Harry's life any easier. Trapped between life and death, he learns that his friends are in serious trouble. Only by finding his murderer can he save his friends and move on - a feat that would be a lot easier if he had a body and access to his powers. Worse still are the malevolent shadows that roam Chicago, controlled by a dark entity that wants Harry to suffer even in death.

Hard to Get Through This One....
Revisado: 11-13-17
I was surprise at how good this series is until I listened to this book. I had a hard time with this one. It was a lot darker than the other books in the series. While giving Harry some time for reflection regarding his choices, it also portrays what life is like for the people that Harry cares about now that he is no longer there. The good news is that it ends on a positive and you get to move on to Skin Game which features more of the Harry we have grown to love.

Loved it! Can’t wait for the next book!
Revisado: 11-13-17
This story brings back some old characters and introduces some new ones. Enjoyed Harry’s crazy antics and loved the story line twists that make these books great and keep you coming back for more. You also get to see Harry’s softer side now that he is a dad. I was sad to get through this one because it was so much fun to binge listen this series. I can’t wait for the next one! Extremely Diverting
Revisado: 05-14-12
I really enjoyed this story. It was very entertaining and the situations that the main characters get into is very entertaining. I have to admit that there were some moments that were a bit predictable. In spite of this, there were places where I laughed out loud. The gem of this audiobook is the reader who switches voices and accents to bring these characters to life with perfection - American, English and French. I would have to say that Ms. Reading is definitely an asset here. This was an overall enjoyable listen.

A Great Beginning
Revisado: 05-04-12
I decided to try this because it looked like an interesting premise. I liked the story - it is set in the 30's which is before the reign of George VI, the current Queen's father. In fact the Queen Mary mentioned is supposed to be his mother. So of course the author has come up with "David" to replace "Edward" and the scandalous relationship with the married American woman is the relationship that Georgiana has to spy on. This is an interesting look into pseudo-history and an enjoyable story with bits of mystery, suspense and has a little romance thrown in for good measure. The reader is superb and the characters are given life with her changing accents and voices making this a lovely listen.

Yes - a First But a Great Beginning!
Revisado: 05-01-12
As a couple of reviewers have mentioned, this IS the first novel with Marsh's fabulous gentleman detective Alleyn. What a beginning it is, though. You meet Alleyn in this book and you can already see that this is a man that you will enjoy reading about. James Saxon! What can I say? This man reads several of the stories in the series and he knows just how to portray the leading ladies. I have listened to this story more than once and I love to come back to these and listen to them in (gasp!) order. Enjoy them as you like but don't miss out on Alleyn's debut!

A Truely Enjoyable Listen...
Revisado: 05-01-12
I don't know whether it is just Lisa Kleypas' incredible art at story telling or whether it is that the reader wove the tail so nicely. I just know that the characters came to life while I was listening to this book and when the story ended I was truly touched. The story was lively and had some pretty funny bits. If you are familiar with the Pacific Northwest then you will really enjoy the Tacoma bit.... No spoilers here. :) Enjoy! I did.
