Life is determined to teach us.

Sometimes we don't want to learn the lessons life is determined to teach us.

There is a lot of fun and laughter between these two best friends. What an enjoyable story as we watch the interaction between them. There is also strong family love and support as deep disappointments are faced. Good friends and family are some of the most precious gifts God gives to us.
Since our character is more important to God than our comfort, He uses life to form character in our lives that we wouldn't have volunteered for on our own. This story brings this to life as Blakely has to make her choices. Will she choose what is right or what she wants? Sometimes those choices aren't as clear as we would like them to be.

I requested and ARC of this title and am willingly reporting my true impressions of this story.

Not only does Jay seamlessly move between the voices of each character but he also manages to pick up and enhance the subtle nuances as feelings are expressed. The experience of the audio is as enjoyable as the story itself.

God is our Refuge

I LOVE the reality that Michelle builds into her stories. So many times we think that our faith in this powerful God will protect us from the harsh realities of life. When the hard things in life threaten to overwhelm us, He remains our only refuge.
Our God is Almighty and powerful but that doesn't exempt us from the trials that He will use to enable us to grow. Yes He cries with us as we go through the pain; but He knows that pain will strengthen us and allow not only growth in our life but empathy for others who find themselves in similar circumstances.
God is our hope, our only hope as we keep our focus on Him. Others can help us but ultimately, He is the only one who can help us.
Audio is my favorite way to “read” a book and the narrator does a good job presenting the story.

Heartwarming & funny...but SO MUCH MORE!!!

Loyal was living up to his name the night that a fire swept through his home. Despite all the heroic effort he expended to save those who were most precious to him, his life was reduced to ashes that night. He lost such a huge part of himself that he no longer had the ability to let anyone into his life. That is until Madeline arrives with her quirky ways & her ability to see so far beyond his scars that she is able to reach into his inner self and restore parts that have been missing for far too long. With secrets of her own, Madeline is still able to touch those around her and enable them to see beyond where they have been trapped and begin to live life again.
As with all in the series (and others by this author), a willingness to do the hard work, a commitment to doing the right thing, and unshakable love for family are the bedrock that the plot is built on. There is enough tender romance to capture the heart without needing the graphic stimulation best left behind closed doors.
Jay has again astounded me with his talent for narration. Not only has he created believable accents for the UK & Australian characters, but he is comfortable enough with them to seamlessly switch from person to person without a hesitation or lag. He is able to convey the emotion of even the kid's parts, helping us to see things through their eyes.

Laughter, Chaos & Love

Both are single parents, and while having their children with them is the most important thing in their world, each has come to a point where without, help they will lose everything that matters the most. Neither is looking for a marriage partner but accept the fact that they will do anything to keep their children with them. With this as their primary focus, they are not prepared as they work their way through all it takes to build a real relationship.
When you add having ten children between them, there is bound to be laughter, chaos and love. I love how there is more of a focus on day to day life as they become a blended family rather than adults who reach out to satisfy their own desires without considering the needs of their children.
This is a clean yet swoon worthy read that will capture not only your attention but also your heart.
Jay Dyess is an extremely talented story teller. He doesn't read the story to you...he brings each character to life making the story so real that you feel like you are there watching. He has such an excellent range of voice that the story flows smoothly as you know exactly who is talking. The voices sound so real you're amazed it's all done by just one person. He shows just how resourceful he can be as they sing together.

Totally Swoonworthy!

Who says a billionaire has to be defined by his money? Wash title in this series shows the human side of these guys and also allows room for each to face life and it’s decisions and choices in a personal way. Who they become because of these choices influences what kind of person they become.
While the narrator does a good job bringing these stories to life, she has a somewhat limited range of character voices which sometimes doesn’t quite capture the natural character of each person.
I was gifted with a copy of this series and am always excited for the chance to listen to a complete series without the distraction of having to find the sequence. I’m willingly posting my impressions of this series.

Life impacting on many deep levels!

She’s not the first teen to have been horrifically raped... and then found out she was pregnant. There are a LOT of serious like changing your issues to address here. With a good support system surrounding her, she (on the surface at least) picks up the pieces of her life and moves on. But there are other issues she has tried to sweep under the rug or cope with in a purely self protective way. She has made GREAT progress but can she move through these other areas too.
This is written from an unashamedly Christian viewpoint and continues on that pathway.
The narrator does a good job bringing the story to life.
I requested a review copy of this title and am willingly offering my opinion of what I heard.

Why settle when you can have it all?

With so many books out there that fit solidly in the sweet but swoon worthy category, it’s an absolute pleasure to find a sweet, swoon worthy book with built in substance also. Written with a Christian point of view, this story gives good but still imperfect characters a chance to find a deeper relationship with Christ as they walk out a better relationship with those around them.
Even though I have read and enjoyed this title on my kindle, I was gifted this audible version with no strings tied. Being able to listen to a great story told by an extremely gifted reader brought the story to life in a totally different dimension! Sometimes I need a pleasant diversion as I work through mundane or repetitive tasks and being able to enjoy this is a real treat.

What was God thinking?

Some tough things happen to good people in this book...shouldn't they be entitled to live a 'charmed' life? But that isn't what happened and it isn't the end of the story. There is laughter, heart warming moments and romance but once again we have a story which goes beyond physical attraction and makes us think.
This is one of my favorite quotes: “Don’t you worry about it, sweetheart. You’re right. There were a lot of late nights, a lot of tears, a lot of time on my knees begging God for you. But you know...” Her mom tilted her head and smiled tremulously. “It was hard, true. But it brought me so much closer to the Lord. In a way I needed. It wasn’t fun, and it wasn’t easy, but don’t apologize for doing something that made me a better person.”

Jay has amazing talent as his narration doesn't get in the way of the story but brings it to life. I felt he brought me into the room to see as Deacon's long held dreams went up in smoke...and feel the anguish of knowing it was through no fault of his own.
