I’m always sad when these books are over because my time in the Joe and Skippy universe is so much fun. Hurry up Craig Alanson and bring on book 18!! Can’t say enough about R.C. Bray. He brings these books to life. I’ve listened to all 18 and enjoyed every one.

The Aftermath of a stunning victory—especially an unexpected, complete, and final victory—should be high-fives all around, listening to politicians give boring congratulatory speeches, and a well-deserved rest for the Merry Band of Pirates. Yes, the galaxy is still a freakin' mess, but that is nothing new, and for a change, that can be someone else's problem. Until, you know, something really bad happens, and only the Pirates can deal with the problem... Or not.

I just started listening to the Walt Longmire books this year, and I’m totally hooked. 15 books in about 6 months! George Guidall’s voice and the stories just suck you in! If you enjoy a sheriff with a philosophical bent, Walt is your man.

Needed more Magic

The book was okay, if you don’t mind lots of minutiae on what it means to be a butler. The time spent on getting internet to the home seemed unnecessary! I wish the book had been more about the butler helping his charge with magic. Or exciting adventures trying to solve the curse instead of delivering tea and making the bed.

Great Stories, but narration problems

I’ve been a Stephen King fan for over 30 years and often listen to his books many times. These stories are very good, but the narration by Ms. Hecht is just awful. I’m not sure she’s every read a Stephen King book to understand the atmosphere that is expected. Her cheery and high whispery voice makes the female characters sound empty headed. The character in Big Driver has something completely horrific happen to her and the narration sounds like a Disney princess movie. Unfortunately, these short stories might have to be read instead of heard for me in the future. I gave the narration 3 stars because Mr. Wasson was excellent.

I was so happy to hear from Holly Gibney again. Her presence in the Bill Hodges trilogy and The Outsider made them some of my favorite SK books. These short stories were very entertaining and the voice work was excellent. Listened to it in about four days and now I’m desolate because the latest SK book is over. Please don’t stop Mr. King!

One of the best books by Stephen King. Complete descent into madness! But, while Lindsay Crouse did an adequate job narrating the book, I just kept wondering why they chose a woman to narrate a book where the predominate voice was from a man - Paul Sheldon. I hate to be so critical, but while I loved the book, it hampered my enjoyment. If the story had been from Annie’s perspective, a woman narrator would have worked.

I thoroughly enjoyed this Stephen King book. One of his best of melding childhood and being an adult. Even in the most horrible moments, he would make me laugh at some of the absurdities of being human. The narrator was also superb. If you’re a Stephen King “constant reader,” this is a must.

Love this series! Every book is a thrill ride with moments of strong emotion that want to break your heart. Joe Ledger and Echo Team are always worth the time. And, can’t say enough about Ray Porter. Definitely one of the best narrators out there.

The story was fun, if a little far fetched. Not a fan of Scott Brick. People must like his narration, because he does a lot of it, but I don’t care for him and generally don’t order books narrated by him. Purchased this before I realized he was the narrator...
