The premise is basically a reincarnation Isekai anime. Which normally I would like, but the main character pretty much has no challenges throughout the book. He's fantastic at everything he does, his only hobbies/personality traits are training to get stronger, every other characters' POV is there to talk about how amazing the main character is, and excluding a few bullies everyone loves him.

I couldn't get into it because the main character didn't feel like a 3D person and the other characters felt like they were only there as witnesses so the audience would join them in amazement for the main character.

Additionally, with the reincarnation premise, the main character has the mind of a grown man in the body of a child. The author clearly starts to set up a future romance with him and an elf child about half way through the book. Again, this is a fully mature man mentally, describing a literal child from his POV in a sexualized way. As in her flawless skin, perfect facial features, and proportions. It's gross, I don't care how old he is physically.

This book has been astronomically helpful for me to understand the mechanics behind conversation and why my strategies for conversational inclusion often fell flat. I can better appreciate the men in my life 'cause I understand their conversational style as a difference instead of a negative aspect of their character.

I'm an asexual Christian (26F) from past abuse, and while I did find this book helpful, a part of me was discouraged by it. Specifically the sections about men's sexual appetite.
I've worked through my issues over the last 15+ years. But this book just reminded me that my future husband will always desire more from me than what I might be able to give him compared to another women with a higher sex drive. Especially if past porn is added to the mix from his past.
I want a family and am currently dating, I'm just worried of hurting a future spouse if I can't perform when that time comes.

The concept for how the world works is very interesting and unique. While I enjoyed the story in general, there are other aspects I didn't find very engaging.

- SC is the only POV character.
- Ariel has no real role in the story.
- The hunter has a major role in the beginning as a motivating force, then promptly becomes inconsequential after SC goes to the facility.
- Slugger, a major player in the story's climax, doesn't come in until toward the end of the story.
- After listening to the book, I know little to nothing about the backstory of the side characters.
- The connection between SC's motivation of finding his mother and taking down rehabilitation facilities seems circumstantial. One is emotionally motivated and one is morally motivated, both are the subject of the story, but the outcomes aren't strongly connected to each other.

It's not a bad book and this might just be a me thing, I usually need a "latch character" to enjoy a story, but this one I'll pass on getting the sequel.

This is a very helpful starting point for studying the very conversation around CRT ideology. Without understanding the concepts behind the CRT phrases used for virtue signaling both at school and online, it's difficult to have a conversation about core beliefs with someone. This has helped me understand the theology behind what few are willing to considerately discuss.

I'm an avid fantasy book connoisseur and this easily has made its way into my top ten. Likeable characters, good pacing, and the perfect balance between serious and lighthearted. Definitely will recommend to friends.

Recently emotionally recovered from Mistborn, but Sanderson has gone and done it again! Personally this is my new favorite book he has written, it has some great political intrigue and lighthearted moments. I love the characters. Go listen to the book!

The voice acting and the story in general are fantastic. The characters are sassy and interesting.
I'm just personally not a huge fan of it being an audio drama, as the narration/visuals are explained by the characters instead. Part of it being an audio drama instead of an audiobook is that the audience often hears the voice actors reacting to something before we're told what it it, and personally it feels unemersive.

I liked it enough to reread it, so if that doesn't tell you something about how much I enjoyed the book, I don't know what will. ;)

This is the kind of stuff that isn't always talked about in church culture. I initially got this book to help me minister to other people in my life. My sister hasn't felt God's presence for 5 years. One of my best friends is high functioning spectrum, and in his words, is "emotionally blind". But really, this book has helped me personally too.

I'm an analytical thinker, that's the lens I use to view the world. In reading this book, I think it's helped me have a broader understanding of His nature. God is a good dad. He's exactly what each of his kids need, when they need it, simultaneously. He meets us where WE are, and there's something beautiful about that.
