REALLY liked the story UNTIL the explicit sex scene! Although the 2nd story included met the “Clean and Wholesome category as it was listed under. This audio book was far from being clean and wholesome!

Lost sleep over this one!

I usually check the reviews ahead of time to make sure that what I'm about to listen to doesn't have sex scenes that are inappropriate. I felt this book was written to honor God's principles in this area. It was SO GOOD that I keep listening to it late into the night, in fact to the early mornings, finally I just had to find out the ending so I skipped ahead and then went back and filled in the story! I highly recommend this audio book.

Not the Honorverse book we've come to expect

What disappointed you about Shadow of Victory?

A couple of things:First, this is the first negative review that I can remember writing but I felt like I owed it to the rest of you readers to do it.Second, I have read all of the Honorverse stories and loved most of them. One of the reasons I downloaded this one was because it was an Honorverse story. Another reason was that it was long, more book for my credit.What I really didn't like about this book was that the story was tedious. It took 15 hours into a 30 hour book before it started to get interesting. Up until then, and even much of the second half of the book was taken up with multiple story lines with a vast array of foreign names for people and places that it was actually boring and very difficult to follow. Another thing that I really disliked was the narrator. He spoke so slowly as he pronounced these very long foreign names that you felt like you were reading at half speed. The other irritating thing about him was that the accents that he tried to apply, whether they were English, Scottish, or Czech, or anything else, were so over the top that I found myself distracted from whatever he was trying to say. All in all, I plowed my way through it and found that it did advance a story line from previous books but it wasn't a pleasant experience.Very disappointed.

The same narrator as used in most of the series.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Shadow of Victory?

Simplify the story. It shouldn't be so convoluted that it's difficult to figure out what's going on.

Really fun listen!

This was a very engaging story. Loved the reader. I enjoyed the depiction of cats as characters in the story, but then all the characters were very well done.

Looking forward to the next installment. This picks up where the Saga ended. It took a while to get reacquainted with the characters but I really enjoyed the new story line. The reader is excellent!
