Historia
Do you ever get a glimpse of yourself that is exactly who you want to be, but always seems just out of reach? The happier, kinder, less stressed, more courageous you? The ideal version of you isn't imaginary at all. It's actually the authentic you trying to break through. And it’s not a future version of yourself you have to chase. The true you may be new to you, but it’s not new to God. It's the you he knew all along.

Historia
Vanessa Mazur refuses to feel bad for quitting—she knows she’s doing the right thing. The thankless job of personal assistant to the top defensive end in the National Football Organization was always supposed to be temporary. She has plans for her life, and none of them include washing extra-large underwear one more day for a man who could never find it in him to tell her good morning, congratulate her on a job well done, or wish her a happy birthday—even when she was spending it working for him.

An all time favorite!
Revisado: 07-09-23
I have listened to this audible book over and over again in its original version read by Callie Dalton. I was very excited to hear bonus content so preordered this version as soon as it was announced. I admit that it is hard to relate a new voice to Vanessa but, after a few chapters, I was in love all over again. It was interesting to hear the story from different voices. I just love the story in any format. If you are new to Mariana Zapata, the story itself and dual narration will have you hooked in no time. You won’t regret the credit spent. The ending is so hot and the epilogues are a lovely bonus. I have every MZ book available in Kindle and Audible formats and will continue to support the author by purchasing anything and everything that she releases.

Historia
It’s considered a given, once your child hits puberty, that she or he will become uncommunicative, rude, and withdrawn, but there are neurobiological, social, and developmental reasons for these often-frustrating behaviors, and understanding those factors can really help us parent well. Focusing on adolescents (covering preteens, teenagers, and young adults), Christine Carter - the parent of four teenagers, a parenting coach, and author - guides you through some of the most important factors when it comes to raising kids in the modern world.

Perfect for a mom whose oldest just became an adolescent
Revisado: 05-21-22
As my oldest son is soon turning 12, I am just starting to encounter some of the topics that this book covers. After listening, I feel better equipped to face the coming years. I asked my husband to listen to it too, and will resisten myself. There is a lot to process and prepare for real world application, but the author did a fabulous job of making the content easy to understand and put into practice.

Historia
Gracie Reed is doing just fine. Sure, she was fired by her overly “friendly” boss, and yes, she still hasn’t gotten her mother into the nursing home of their dreams, but she’s healthy, she’s (somewhat) happy, and she’s (mostly) holding it all together. But when a mysterious SUV pulls up beside her, revealing Chinese cinema's golden couple Wei Fangli and Sam Yao, Gracie’s world is turned on its head. The famous actress has a proposition: Due to their uncanny resemblance, Fangli wants Gracie to be her stand-in.

I really loved this story. It was unique and funny and romantic. As someone who struggles with depression and anxiety, I appreciated the frankness with which it was discussed. I will add this one to my favorites list.

Historia
Somewhere out beyond the edge of the universe there is a library that contains an infinite number of books, each one the story of another reality. One tells the story of your life as it is, along with another book for the other life you could have lived if you had made a different choice at any point in your life. While we all wonder how our lives might have been, what if you had the chance to go to the library and see for yourself? Would any of these other lives truly be better? In The Midnight Library, Nora Seed finds herself faced with this decision.

Historia
Kristen Petersen doesn't do drama, will fight to the death for her friends, and has no room in her life for guys who just don't get her. She's also keeping a big secret: facing a medically necessary procedure that will make it impossible for her to have children. Planning her best friend's wedding is bittersweet for Kristen - especially when she meets the best man, Josh Copeland. He's funny, sexy, never offended by her mile-wide streak of sarcasm, and always one chicken enchilada ahead of her hangry. Even her dog, Stuntman Mike, adores him. The only catch: Josh wants a big family.

This story was so wonderfully and beautifully written and performed. I found myself thinking of my own journey through infertility in a different light after hearing it. The characters were relatable and the story engaging. I couldn’t stop listening.

Historia
Olive Torres is used to being the unlucky twin: from inexplicable mishaps to a recent layoff, her life seems to be almost comically jinxed. By contrast, her sister Ami is an eternal champion...she even managed to finance her entire wedding by winning a slew of contests. Unfortunately for Olive, the only thing worse than constant bad luck is having to spend the wedding day with the best man (and her nemesis), Ethan Thomas.

Funny, Realistic, and Sweet
Revisado: 05-21-19
This was such a good story. I enjoyed the humor, as I always do with Ms. Lauren’s books. I loved that the story line was realistic and believable. The romance was a little messy and challenging, but not in such an over-the-top dramatic way that it felt manufactured. Coming from a large family myself, I found the interactions between Olive and her family members to be hilarious and familiar. I love how the characters were imperfect and recognized this in themselves, developing over time. I don’t want to spoil anything, so I will just say that the epilogue sealed the awesomeness for me. Imperfect perfection. I will likely re-listen to this one in the future.

Historia
Luna Allen has done some things she would rather no one ever know about. She also knows that, if she could go back in time, she wouldn’t change a single thing. With three sisters she loves, a job she (mostly) adores, and a family built up of friends she’s made over the years, Luna figures everything has worked out the way it was supposed to. But when one of those secrets involves the man who signs her paycheck, she can’t find it in her to regret it. Despite the fact that he’s not the friendliest man in the world. Or the most patient.

Another favorite Mariana Zapata book!
Revisado: 04-25-19
As with the finish of every Zapata book, I am mourning that this one is over. I cried and sighed, grew angry and confused, and fell in love right along with Luna and Rip. I love how Zapata makes her characters relatable, but also so good and strong that I feel challenged to be a little better and stronger after getting to know them. This is a great read and well worth the credit.

Historia
If Darcy Barrett hadn’t met her dream man when she was eight years old, the rest of the male population wouldn’t be such a let-down. No one measures up to Tom Valeska, aka the best man on Earth, not in looks, brain, or heart. Even worse is the knowledge that her twin brother Jamie saw him first, and claimed him forever as his best friend. Tom’s off limits and loyal to her brother, 99 percent. One percent of Tom has had to be enough for Darcy, and her adoration has been sustained by his shy kindness. And if she’s honest, his tight t-shirts.

Revisado: 01-30-19
I pre-ordered this book as soon as it was available because I loved The Hating Game so much. It set the bar high and I was worried that it would be impossible to reach the same level of awesomeness. But I loved 99 Percent Mine too. The characters felt so real and well-developed. They were flawed in relatable ways. The story was interesting and lovely. It made me want to be a little braver and a whole lot more loving to the important people in my world. It is a fabulous listen!

Lucy Hutton has always been certain that the nice girl can get the corner office. She's charming and accommodating and prides herself on being loved by everyone at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone except for coldly efficient, impeccably attired, physically intimidating Joshua Templeman. And the feeling is mutual. Trapped in a shared office together 40 (ok, 50 or 60) hours a week, they've become entrenched in an addictive, ridiculous never-ending game of one-upmanship.

I honestly expected this to be an easy read and cheesy romance. It was so much more. The characters were wonderfully developed and relatable. The story line had me so full of anticipation that I couldn’t stop listening. I laughed and cried and mourned when it was over.
