Historia
After Tova Sullivan’s husband died, she began working the night shift at the Sowell Bay Aquarium, mopping floors and tidying up. Keeping busy has always helped her cope, which she’s been doing since her eighteen-year-old son, Erik, mysteriously vanished on a boat in Puget Sound over thirty years ago. Tova becomes acquainted with curmudgeonly Marcellus, a giant Pacific octopus living at the aquarium. Marcellus knows more than anyone can imagine but wouldn’t dream of lifting one of his eight arms for his human captors—until he forms a remarkable friendship with Tova.

Liz Moore is amazing
Revisado: 12-19-24
I read God of the Woods recently and it was so great I finished it in 2 days. I needed to consume another one of her books but I had to return to work so I got on Audible to find her. After this book is finished it will be 2 of her books in less than a week. Her books are literary and the character development is really incredible. UW is written from the view of the girl mostly from the age of 12-14 some from when she is grown and there are later flashback for her father. There aren’t many big surprises but I haven’t been able to get ahead and guess what’s going to happen next. It just develops in a way I imagine all of our lives would if we were to write them down.
I don’t really like the robotic reader, she almost sounds like Siri reading a book Sometimes the more descriptive paragraphs get lost in the drone of her voice and I would find myself going back 30 + seconds. Even with the reader it’s really worth it to get this book.

Historia
Scholarship law student Margot’s fling with her classmate Sam almost cost her everything. Now, she’s going out to dinner with him to a luxurious French restaurant with a plan to even the score. But Sam arrives late and is acting increasingly strangely. His hands are shaking, he’s nervous and jumpy; he’s behaving nothing like the privileged charmer she knows. As the night unfolds, Margot realizes Sam has a terrifying plan of his own.

Historia
“What does she want from me?” A young Iranian immigrant panics as she’s being chased through the streets by an unknown blonde woman. When their two worlds collide, the answer to that question becomes increasingly unsettling in Afsaneh Gray’s The Other Woman, a bracingly unpredictable audio experience. The two women find they share similar struggles in a society that doesn’t see them…but as their relationship develops, what feels like liberation begins to shift into an all-too-familiar dynamic.

Good acting, ok story
Revisado: 01-19-24
The actors were great but the story only ok. I read the reviews and it’s definitely not as gruesome as I had expected. It’s a short story and I didn’t see the end coming. Give it a go just for the fun of it.

Historia
Leigh Collier has worked hard to build what looks like a normal life. She has a good job as a defense attorney, a daughter doing well in school, and even her divorce is relatively civilized - her life is just as unremarkable as she’d always hoped it would be. But Leigh’s ordinary life masks a childhood that was far from average...a childhood tarnished by secrets, broken by betrayal, and finally torn apart by a devastating act of violence.

Another great suspense novel
Revisado: 07-28-23
I may be bias but I love Slaughter’s books. She’s an excellent storyteller, and she can really get into the mindset of many types of personalities.
This is the story of two sisters, both with a build up of traumatic events in their young lives, and one huge one that sets them on separate paths as separate people and how they deal with it. One lives with so much guilt, and the other one chooses not to face it and has written the story differently in her mind. I loved it and even though I didn’t feel surprised by the ending it felt right. I highly recommend

Historia
In my book, you will meet a little girl named Viola who ran from her past until she made a life-changing decision to stop running forever. This is my story, from a crumbling apartment in Central Falls, Rhode Island, to the stage in New York City, and beyond. This is the path I took to finding my purpose but also my voice in a world that didn’t always see me.
