Phenomonal Story -- Annoying Main Character

I was really hoping that Becca would get smarter in this installment .. all the other characters are written well, so maybe self centered, weak minded and lacking any common sense is how the author really wanted to portray her ... the story is soooo good, but it would have been soooo much better if the main character wasn't so .. so ... STUPID.

I started the 3rd book immediately after this because the story line is really good and very engaging, Here's hoping Becca finally grows a brain ...

I LOVE the story, the setting, and all the characters EXCEPT the main character who is about as dumb as a box of rocks ... that having been said, the story itself, all the other characters, and the narrator had me jumping right into the second book in the series.

Fabulous ending to the teilogy

This entire trilogy was absolutely captivating! Granted, I am partial to Russian/Slavic mythologies and ancient religious practices, bit the character building, world building, and blend of fact and fiction was astoundingly brilliant!

I HATED the tv series, and almost didn’t read this book because of how much I loathed the television adaptation.

I am very glad I decided to give the book a shot, I LOVED IT!!!🤓🥰

Despite the fabulous narration by Davina Porter I almost bailed on the book about half way through. The first half of this book was painfully slow, and it seemed like nothing would ever actual happen. The pace of the book never really improved, but things did start to FINALLY happen. Having stuck it out and finished the book I can appreciate it as a picture of what life was like for women and those who did not fit “the norm” in the 19th century, in that aspect it was a fabulous book. But the story itself took way too long to progress and that combined with no real ending and too many loose ends, many of the important loose ends, hanging open, left me mostly disappointed. This could have been as fabulous a story as it was a commentary on the age, but it wasn’t.

FABULOUS!!

I have long been a fan of the original and later the new Planet of the Apes movies but had never read the book that started it all. OMG!! It was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! I really do not understand why they changed the original movie in the ways that they did. The story as told in the book is so much stronger, so much more startling , and really makes you think even more!!

Captivating

Just as in the first book in this series, I felt a strong connection to Vasya despite the differences in age, era, surroundings. This second book was every bit as captivating as the first and I look forward to the third!
