Historia
It was one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Princess Diana was laid to rest, billions wondered what Prince William and Prince Harry must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on.

Historia
In November 2014, 13 members of the Biden family gathered on Nantucket for Thanksgiving, a tradition they had been celebrating for the past 40 years; it was the one constant in what had become a hectic, scrutinized, and overscheduled life. The Thanksgiving holiday was a much-needed respite, a time to connect, a time to reflect on what the year had brought, and what the future might hold. But this year felt different from all those that had come before.

Historia
Small though they were, PT boats played a key role in World War II, carrying out an astonishing variety of missions where fast, versatile, and strongly armed vessels were needed. Called "weapons of opportunity", they met the enemy at closer quarters and with greater frequency than any other type of surface craft. Among the most famous PT commanders was John F. Kennedy, whose courageous actions in the Pacific are now well known to the American public.

WWII IN MY Family HISTORY
Revisado: 08-23-20
I ask My Dad that Boomer generational Q., "What did You do in the War, Daddy?" His answer was, "Oh, I was just on a Crash Boat." Of course, that was followed by, "What does a Crash Boat do, Daddy?", which was followed with, "Oh, it goes around saving people." Somehow, at 2 1/2, I knew ~ in the middle of people killing each other, My Dad was 'Saving People'! You couldn't have a higher calling than that in war! In later years I have walked up to and looked up at the bow of the USS Wisconsin, and I understood what he meant!
Now, I am researching everything I can on the Solomon Island and PT & Crash Boats, not only was my Dad in theater but I also had an Uncle, who was a US Marine and fought on Guadala Canal & Iwo Juma. So, History. And, I found this book fascinating.

Historia
Oftentimes, society fails to realize the struggles behind closed doors that occur within the boundaries of government. Society fails to see the fights of those who refuse the political ploys of a government position to uphold democracy and ensure the law is upheld. Bill introductions, scandals, resistance, and party politics often stymie within the quagmire of political reform.

The Final Chapter on Deep Throat
Revisado: 08-19-20
My Favorite Movie is 'All the Presidents Men'. This is the behind-the-scenes that includes the Final Chapter of Deep Throat ~ His reveal. At 86 his memory preserved some secrets for eternity that perhaps are just as well lost with no inconvenience to history or truth. Beyond US Knowing, the BEST Part was HIS Knowing WE KNEW & IT WAS OK! He was Safe. His family was safe and HE WAS A HERO! BRAVO!

Historia
It was the bloodiest battle in Marine Corps history, claiming a third of all marines killed in World War II. The relentless fighting on Iwo Jima lasted for 36 days, but most of us only know the iconic photo of five soldiers raising the American flag on Mount Surabachi. For Fred Haynes, a young captain in Combat Team 28, Surabachi was one marker in a ferocious blood-letting against an enemy of 22,000 warriors who were dug into caves and tunnels.

MY Uncle Fought on Iwo ...
Revisado: 02-21-20
So, I Listened intently for his name and even though his sir-name was Williams, I knew him as, Uncle Bill. I do remember him telling me, when I was very little, that Bill wasn't his real name. They had named him something he didn't like, so he had everyone call him, Bill. I will have to look up the information of my Mother's side, to confirm. What I remember of him was ~ first, his Size. He had huge hands. He had graduated from Ole Miss and play all the sports, football, basketball and baseball. My Mom said it was an injurie that happened during a basketball game and that ended a likely & promising, athletic career. I remember seeing a picture of him in Green Utilities with 1st LT bars. His Gov Standard headstone says he was Capt. And according a memory I have of talking to my cousin at his passing, they got his Birthdate MO WRONG on his Headstone. I don't believe anyone has seen to correcting that. After my graduation from Hight School, I enlisted in the USMC. My Permeant Duty Station was HQ Co, Base Comm, Camp Pendleton, 5th Mar Div. I am interested to learn everything I can about the battle and hopefully, somethings about his participation in it. I am Very Proud to have 'Stood-On-His-Shoulders'. I love him very much.

Historia
Admittedly small and vulnerable, PT boats were, nevertheless, fast - the fastest craft on the water during World War II - and Dick Keresey's account of these tough little fighters throws new light on their contributions to the war effort. As captain of PT 105, the author was in the same battle as John F. Kennedy when Kennedy's PT 109 was rammed and sunk. The famous incident, Keresey says, has often been described inaccurately and the PT boat depicted as unreliable and ineffective.

It Ended Too Soon...
Revisado: 01-10-20
The Title immediately caught my eye, being of-an-age, as they say. Although his intersections with 'LT Kennedy' were not as frequent as I had hoped, authenticity lent brevity depth. Beyond that, my father fought on a Crash Boat in the Solomon's, at the same time. So, the first hand account of everyday life on those islands, how many islands there were, was fascinating to me.

Historia
It could be said that Leon Panetta has had two of the most consequential careers of any American public servant in the past 50 years. His first career, beginning as an army intelligence officer and including a distinguished run as one of Congress' most powerful and respected members, lasted 35 years and culminated in his transformational role as Clinton's budget czar and White House chief of staff.

A Worthy Read ...
Revisado: 12-07-19
I remember seeing Leon Panetta on TV, CSpan, and trusting the man. I watched as he rose in the ranks and fought some of the fights he waged. I liked the man. He wasn't from Texas, where I live, but I would have voted for him had he been on a national ticket. And...then I heard His memories of CIA, it confirmed much of my impressions from afar about the times, the front-seat view and backstage entre provided and ... my Final Decision IS ... Again ... I Trust Him. I Am Grateful HE Choose Public Service and I will See-To-IT ~ His work is passed On to the Future Generations of My Family with copies of this Audio Book! They Need to Know This Stuff. And, Leon Panetta, is a Role Model. Thank You, Sir, for Everything and this Christmas Gift, too!
