Historia
At seven years old, Ella Sunbury and Max Manning were inseparable—until life scattered them in different directions, forcing Ella to abruptly leave town. A decade later, she returns for their senior year of high school, moving in across the street from her childhood best friend. But she's not the same girl Max once knew. She now lives in the shadow of her brother: a notorious felon on death row, convicted of a crime that shook the nation. Reeling from the fallout and shunned by her peers, all Ella wants is to fade into the background.

One of the best love stories of all time
Revisado: 12-08-24
I found this book relatable and I just love the characters. It had me gripped the whole time, and there were so many points along the way where I was gripped by intense emotion and hanging on by a thread as the story unraveled, I really felt like I went on a journey with the characters. Absolutely loved it!

Historia
Born to survivalists in the mountains of Idaho, Tara Westover was seventeen the first time she set foot in a classroom. Her family was so isolated from mainstream society that there was no one to ensure the children received an education, and no one to intervene when one of Tara’s older brothers became violent. When another brother got himself into college, Tara decided to try a new kind of life. Her quest for knowledge transformed her, taking her over oceans and across continents, to Harvard and to Cambridge University.

Gripping and profound masterpiece
Revisado: 09-08-23
There’s something in this book that anyone and everyone can relate to and it leads to a profound effect on one. It’s a story I’ll never forget. It’s one I’ll no doubt think of often throughout the rest of my life. I’m so grateful to the person who recommended it to me, as I’ve changed because of it. It did so subtly, but it has shifted my views for the better. It also somehow allowed me peace for certain parts of my own past. Such a masterpiece.

Historia
Neil Gaiman has long been inspired by ancient mythology in creating the fantastical realms of his fiction. Now he turns his attention back to the source, presenting a bravura rendition of the great northern tales. In Norse Mythology, Gaiman fashions primeval stories into a novelistic arc that begins with the genesis of the legendary nine worlds; delves into the exploits of the deities, dwarves, and giants; and culminates in Ragnarok, the twilight of the gods and the rebirth of a new time and people.

Addicting! So sad when it ended. I need more!
Revisado: 04-21-19
Neil narrates it so well. I got really sucked in and found the stories fascinating. I wish it had been 100 times longer. I can not recommend this book enough. ❤️ I wasn’t even a fan or Norse mythology before this book. I was just curious. Now I love it!
