I liked that this was actually believable, it held the realm of possibility. I wish it was a bit longer, but a very enjoyable listen.

Better than I Expected

I thought this was going to be a fluffy romance but it's not! An interesting listen, political machinations, well paced. My only disappointment was the ending, I would have loved a second book where she makes him work to win her back. But it's a good listen.

Just when you thought it was ending...HELL NO!!!!

It took a 3 day weekend to go through this one because I couldn't stop listening! Full of the yummy science & history stuff followers of this series love. You will be wondering where the real vs fiction line is multiple times; yes, I stopped to Google a few things only to find my world expanding a bit more. Sigma is firing on all cylinders in this one, and the bad guys are gonna regret kicking anthill. There will definitely be a couple of re-reads until the next adventure begins. Definitely worth the credit and the next one.

Not what I expected, but way better

Don't listen distracted you'll miss too much. Narration is excellent as always. Be prepared for a shock, but keep listening. This book proves BDB will be around for a while, so much more to explore.

A totally new story, not a cookie cutter plot. Interesting twists, visceral writing, a solid story. Leaves you curious for the next one, but the pace is a bit frenetic. which suits the story but can make a tiring listen.

The title is misleading, this book is not about an amazing breed of horse now lost to us, but a general history of the Australian campaign in WWI. A depressing listen, not sure if I'm keeping it.

I read this series when it came out many years ago and have missed it. Having been out of print for so long, I'm glad it is finally back. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

needed to up narration speed

narrator spoke so slow that I would have fallen asleep before the end of the first chapter. upped narration speed to 125% and then it was suitable for lustening, otherwise I would have missed out on a great story.
