Historia
In 1980, a freshman congressman was gunned down in Rhode Island, sending shockwaves through Washington that are still reverberating over four decades later. Now, with the world on the brink of war and a weakened United States facing rampant inflation, political division, and shocking assassinations, a secret cabal of global elites is ready to assume control. And with the world’s most dangerous man locked in solitary confinement, the conspirators believe the final obstacle to complete domination has been eliminated. They’re wrong.

Carr mails it in! Disappointed.
Revisado: 05-22-23
Jack Carr’s preamble implies that this book will be personal and “from the heart”. I must have missed the parts of his bio that included a stay in federal prison and acquisition of geo-political “chops”. And where in the world does Jack Carr reveal “real world” credentials in understanding Russian politics? No, Mr. Carr, this one did not come from your heart,; perhaps you’re confusing your heart with another part of your anatomy.
By the way, given the amount of research that Mr. Carr put into this tome, he might consider a career in journalism. I hear Fox News has an opening.
Look, I’m a Jack Carr/Ray Porter fan, but I want my credit returned!

Extraordinarily Bad!
Revisado: 01-13-22
Author and narrator are usually trusted artists. I don't know what happened here. very poor character development and dialogue is even worse. Narrator continues the debacle with the most annoying voices I've ever heard. Please save yourself from this hot mess!

Historia
If you were asked when America became polarized, your answer would likely depend on your age: You might say during Barack Obama’s presidency, or with the post-9/11 war on terror, or the culture wars of the 1980s and 1990s, or the “Reagan Revolution” and the the rise of the New Right. How did the US become so divided? Fault Lines offers a richly told, wide-angle history view toward an answer.

Provides a survey of key political, economic, cultural, and news/entertainment media changes in the US since the resignation of US President Richard Nixon. The author presents his opinion of the impacts on internal US politics following each major shift. Highly recommended!

Historia
We're living in the midst of a scientific revolution that's captured the general public's attention and imagination. The aim of this new revolution is to develop a "theory of everything," a set of laws of physics that will explain all that can be explained, ranging from the tiniest subatomic particle to the universe as a whole. Here, readers will learn the ideas behind the theories and their effects upon our world, our civilization, and ourselves.

An excellent survey for those of us who are mathematically challenged.
Revisado: 09-07-15
First, I'd like to say that I am truly a "lay" science reader. When I pick up books like this, I'm usually trying to find the source of some science fiction writer's ideas.
Second, I'd probably find a Chinese menu fascinating, if it was read by Ray Porter.
Third, I'm a "skim-reader" and usually don't finish books like this one.
I listened to this book like a mystery novel and could neither set it aside nor wait to see what happens next.
Great job, everyone!

Be careful Ms. Harrison, you might just have a hit TV series on your hands. I enjoyed the characters, the story-line, and hints of a dark side - with power and adult relationships. Keep it up! I'm a fan!

Historia
A masterful, intensely suspenseful novel about a reader whose obsession with a reclusive writer goes far too far - a book about the power of storytelling, starring the same trio of unlikely and winning heroes King introduced in Mr. Mercedes. "Wake up, genius." So begins King's instantly riveting story about a vengeful reader. The genius is John Rothstein, an iconic author who created a famous character, Jimmy Gold, but who hasn't published a book for decades.

King and Patton; now that's entertainment!
Revisado: 06-07-15
Stephen King has refined his craft like a fine Cabernet. Rich characters, an excellent story that balances and combines deep subplots, and the right amount of macabre psychological tension all produce another vintage King novel.
Will Patton is one of the finest narrators you will ever have the pleasure of hearing. Each character's voice is unique and tuned to the context of the story. He provides a complete ensemble cast for this novel and produces just the right finishing touches to bring this story to life. I'm a huge fan!
I highly recommend this production of "Finders Keepers"!

The 13 chapters of The Art of War, each devoted to one aspect of warfare, were compiled by the high-ranking Chinese military general, strategist, and philosopher Sun-Tzu. In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Historia
On opening day of the new baseball season a small model-kit airplane flies down from the stands and buzzes the mound, where a decorated veteran pilot is about to throw out the first ball. The toy plane is the exact replica of the one flown by the war hero. Everyone laughs, thinking it's a prank or a publicity stunt. Until it explodes, killing dozens. Seconds later a swarm of killer drones descend upon the picnicked crowd, each one carrying a powerful bomb. All across the country artificial intelligence drive systems in cars, commuter trains and even fighter planes go out of control.

Fans will enjoy this action-packed chapter; newcomers meet the gang. I was left wondering if the title should read "Part One".
Can I assume "Part Two" is at the publisher? Why pay for one when you can pay for two?
