I have waited to read this series until the 3rd book was with reach. It was worth the wait! The world building and dialogue is extraordinary. It’s a roller coaster ride but worth it.
Pros
Steamy but not too much. IMO, some of the scenes are 18 and older.
Greatly descriptive
Suspenseful
Engaging
Plot twisting
All the feels

Cons
The biggest con was narration. She did phenomenal and I know the dramatization version exists as well. However for me 1 book done well doesn’t need 2 additional dramatizations at $$$. I get the concept but if the original is done well I just want to buy that one. Again, this is such a complex story with many characters, worlds and cultures etc. a dual narration would have hit better for me. Some of the voices sounded the same. I would have to go back to find out who said what.
The heroic, courageous MC was a little immature at times. I think that could make her endearing to some however to me it was over kill and dragged on.

4.7 stars for me.

Good plot, Good story but…

The complete innocence box set was a great buy as you get all books in one purchase. Love that.

The overall story was pretty good. A bit predictable at times but also some unforeseen twists which was a nice surprise.
The female lead had so much potential to really step into her power. I would have liked to see the development and maturity of her character blossom sooner. I just think the author could have gone so many powerful directions with her. The story around her Marcus became a bit convoluted at times. And I often found myself a little lost in the on again off again situation.
The first and last book were the best. The other character development was pretty good
**But the narration**Here’s where this whole thing went wrong for me. No, nope, no thank you! The narrator is probably really great at reading a different genre of books. IMO this was not his forte’. I love a female and male narrator duet. And I think either a male or female can perform the narration on an entire book really well. But this time the narration is a NO for me.

Slow burn

Great story so far. The development of the main characters is addicting. The burn is so slow which I enjoy.
Personally, I am a big fan of ‘duet’ narration. This not that but still quite good and worth the listen! Can’t wait to dive into the rest of the series!

PERFORMANCE and Storyline are standing O worthy

Wow….wow…..wow….
Okay, where to begin. This book just leaves you speechless. Head the trigger warnings for sure. This is a deeply heavy book. After you acknowledge that buckle up because it’s one hell of a ride!
JH….this is my 3rd book of her that Ive binged. And while it is heavy and dark with notes of lightness it’s not as dark (for me) as that sik love was. I mean, JH books are a Yes, more please for me. She is up there with some of the greats IMO!Amazing storyline. Deeply thought out, perfectly delivered and so gut wrenching at times you feel every word of it. Just wow…
PERFORMANCE…..oh hell-o Joe Arden. He does it again. Give this man a book and microphone. Then Sit back and enjoy the ride. Because how can you not!
CJ Bloom did amazing things for Han as well. This is my first listen with CJ but I will certainly look for her again.
And I will say the duet narration is the only way to for me now! More of that pretty please.

Nice Surprise

I have to say this is one of the best books I’ve read in a while. I read a lot 200+. I don’t review a ton but this book…this book is up there with some of my faves.
I LOVE the duet tandem narration! I fell in love with that type of narration for audiobooks from another few authors and I honestly I wish every audiobook narration would go that way.
But this book was a very good read. It drew me in and held on the whole time! It was spicy 🌶️and hot 🔥but tasteful and with a great story to bring it all together! All the feels!
Narration was outstanding A++++. I am a ridiculously HUGE Joe Arden fan 🔥🥵 He could read the dictionary and bring it to life! 😆 This was my first listen to Avery Caris as narrator but I was impressed and enjoyed her. Both authors did phenomenal.
Ms. Jescie well done! I can’t wait to see what you write next because I’m here for it!

I don’t know where to begin….I’m wrecked.
First; You FEEL this book in audio to the depths of your SOUL. The audio version of this book reaches into your heart, your head and your gut and leaves it’s mark on you. You will finish this book and NEVER be done with it. This right here, will be a book, a story that you will forever remember the feels and emotions it conjures for you. This book has it all, love, hate, darkness, light, youth and maturity, good and evil, a promise and heartbreak it is SOOOO much more. If you know, you know…..
The characters are people you want to know, the love story is what you want to have, you want to be in the fight with them. The audio narration in duet is top notch, stellar and like nothing I have heard or felt before. Maxine and Joe nailed it….the depth to their ability in creating very different character voices was outstanding! And they brought it all to life perfectly. The way they draw you I won’t let you go takes your breath away! So much skill and talent.
Kate is a God. A creative genius who gives words life and depth I can’t even comprehend. THIS BOOK….creates a moving picture in your mind so vivid that you feel like you are there in it. The whole Ravenhood series is one of my top Fav series. Not going to lie, this book will leave you gutted and relieved at the same time. Have your tissue and quiet place ready so to give yourself some time to sit with ALL of it when you are done. It’s deep and intense and SOOOOO unbelievably memorable. You will be consumed by every single second!

Nope not for me and my family

Let me start by saying we as a family enjoyed ready player one. This one, nope, not okay for my kids to listen to IMO. Sadly the writer had to bring political views into this story that went to far for me…..
Love sci fi and fantasy books, can even listen to books that differ from my opinions and beliefs. However this book went to far and the hidden agenda for indoctrination became clear late in chapter 5. Wish I could get my money back.
