Historia
On a tiny island off Paradiso, Florida, in 1970, neighbors gather to toast two new arrivals: shy Catherine and her taciturn husband, Dr. Frank Overbrook, who is taking over an old friend’s medical practice. It’s an intimate welcoming for the newlyweds, who have abandoned city life for swaying palms and an ocean breeze. But the morning after is anything but peaceful when Frank is found dead on the beach.

Cozy Coastal "And Then There Were None" Vibes
Revisado: 05-07-25
A bit of a "and then there were none" vibe, but with a cozy coastal touch to it. I enjoyed the characters and all the secrets they kept along with setting of 1970s Florida.

Meredith and Nina Whitson are as different as sisters can be. One stayed at home to raise her children and manage the family apple orchard; the other followed a dream and traveled the world to become a famous photojournalist. But when their beloved father falls ill, Meredith and Nina find themselves together again, standing alongside their cold, disapproving mother, Anya, who even now, offers no comfort to her daughters.

Her Books are Magical
Revisado: 04-27-25
The Nightingale was my first historical fiction I read in 2020 during the shut down. I fell in love and heartbreak over the story of the occupation of France during WW2. Since then I've read The Women and The Great Alone. I think The Winter Garden is tied up there with my favorite of hers, but she has an incredibly gift of writing about historic events and weaving in grief, love and loss.

Glitz & Glamor
Revisado: 04-21-25
Overall I loved this story. I was a bit worried it was going to be like The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It wasn't that at all except for the Hollywood setting and I really liked enjoyed the storyline and narrations.

I really enjoyed The Butterfly Garden even though it was quite disturbing and twisted. It was a bit far fetched though and I thought this storyline was more realistic and I enjoyed how they wove Inara & Priyas stories of survival together!

Twisty and Engaging
Revisado: 04-12-25
I wasn't sure about the narrator at first and it was a bit confusing to follow at first, but then I got sucked in and very much enjoyed the story. I feel like some pieces were easy to put together and the end was a bit hurried with a few pieces missing though?

Twisty, a bit hectic but good
Revisado: 04-06-25
Overall a good listen. It's very twisty though it was also a bit hectic with lots of characters and plot lines. It was kind of Gone Girl esque and I'm loving this author.
