Good story, but way way too wordy

The series is really quite good. But my only criticism is that it took extraordinarily too long to get any pointers crossed. 15 minutes to describe a room that has no bearing on the story. 10 minutes with all of this Yakety yak yak yak, which again has no bearing on the story. Whole series could’ve literally been cut in half if you cut out the unnecessary language.

Normally I only like to submit positive reviews given the current climate of our country we all need a little positivity. So I skimmed over the negative reviews of this book and saw there was a substantial amount of likes. I’m used to listening to audiobooks that are well over eight hours long without issue. However I must agree with the negative reviews. This book is 90% blah blah blah and 10% actual story. I struggled and struggled to even get involved in the story within the first four chapters and I kept pushing myself to listen. In the end it was not worth my time or effort and I’m disappointed I didn’t listen to the initial reviews that mimic my same statement above.

Not a native American reading the dialogue but Pretending to be American

The story was fine up until the last couple of hours. The real problem is the narration it is not only a single narration female. But the female is clearly not American and yet the characters are from New York the Midwest and Wyoming. Extraordinarily distracting to hear words come out in Australian or English accent that are clearly supposed to be spoken with some sort of southern twang. The derivation ruined the book.
This is the second book I reviewed from the same author. I did not like the first book thinking a second book we needed to be her to give a fair shot. Will not listen to this author again between the first book and this narration my interest is completely gone in any of this authors past or future writings.

The story drags on and on and on with whole chapters dedicated to describing a room. It’s like the MC version of Edgar Allan Poe. The single narration from the mail is long and boring and truly hard to get into.

Poorly written story

I listen to 5 or more books weekly. So very disappointed in the over all story. Dragged on with over the top description of basic feelings , places and events.
Please do not waste your time. I’m sorry I did.

Lead female is beyond weak

Do not waste your time. While the storyline could be very good the lack of any sense of backbone from the lead female truly ruined a possible good story.

This is my first negative review. The struggle is the narrator, no distinction between the two main characters. Horrible to follow as the narrator is so blah you cannot enjoy the story.
