The main take away is good advice

I can appreciate what the author has put together here. Encouraging communication is always a good thing. Her description to technics is great and made this fun to listen to and imagine. It's a worthwhile listen if you can come with an open mind... I could see this practice come against a whole lotta resistance from some proud males though... kudos to those that can humble themselves. I think it could definitely be a life changer if only they'd try.

I love the spirit of this book! Their faith is contagious and I can't get enough of it. I just found the physical book online and ordered it. I will be listening to this again and recommending it to all newlyweds, and anyone else that comes to mind. Stand on the Word of God!

Felt reperative... but good.

this book is lovely. There were a few times I felt like I started the story back up too far back when I returned to it but I think it was just the information needed to be repeated once again for that particular situation. Great information in this book. I think I'll have to get the physical format to take better notes and review. I highly recommend. 😊

A must read for every pregnant woman!

I wonder if the people who rated this less than 5 stars are women who are either 1st timers or women VERY involved, trusting in the medical system... maybe even work in the medical field.

I did not find this book condescending to doctors in any way. As a matter of fact, what she wrote in this book actually softened my heart towards them.

With that being said, I am a mother of many children (9) to be exact... And I am still educating myself on birthing as I'm approaching the delivery of my 9th child. I wish I read this book with my 1st child, who was delivered via Cesarean. The warnings she gives in this book are 100% NECESSARY! Just as some claim she is "fear mongering" obgs do the SAME THING! I remember leaving 2 OBs that sent me home crying worried about the dangers I was potentially putting my child in. They never gave me percentages like this author does, I had to look them up myself. After doing so those people were WRONG for making me feel the way I did.
Anyway back to the book it is fantastic!! I will have my daughters read it when they start having children. I may even start purchasing it for anyone I know that finds themselves pregnant. Even if you don't have a supportive partner the information found in this book is still very useful. Take the the good, and forget what isn't useful to you.

a MUST read!

I absolutely love this book! I wish I came across it years ago when I started having children. I will be getting the paper/hardback to give to my girls when they are ready to have kids. A LOT of information you won't be getting from your gynecologist.

Good content in a distasteful presentation

I like and appreciate the actual tips she encourages in this book, I just really hate the way she highlights the racial divide. Calling out "CIS white men" 🙄 As a black woman writing this review now, I feel it's ugly and nnecessary. But like she states, focus on the customers you want... and after listing to this, I know exactly who she intends/wants to reach.

Everyone should read this. Would make a great movie. Lots of great information and beautiful stories, some heartbreaking but they needed to be shared. Thank you Ina May.

This book should have been shorter

I did not like this one... I finished it for the sake of being able to add 1 more book to my yearly reading list. I feel like this book could have been done in 3 chapters, everything else is a lot of fluff. Perhaps I'm too small minded to appreciate it, it did give a warning to the reader at the beginning... I should have listened. I choose it because I am interested in the Sudbury Valley school, listening to this book did NOT kindle more interest.
