Historia
When a body turns up in the dumpster behind Caroline's Cupcakes, Holly White is horrified to learn her best friend, Caroline, is the main suspect. Everyone in town, including Mistletoe, Maine's sheriff, saw Caroline fighting with the victim on the night of his death. Worse, Caroline's fingerprints are all over the murder weapon, a custom-designed marble rolling pin. Now, just 10 days before Christmas, Holly's up to her jingle bells in holiday shenanigans and in desperate need of a miracle.

Historia
No one knows what happened that morning at River Point. Five boys went hunting. Four came back. The boys won't say who fired the shot that killed their friend, Grant; the evidence shows it could have been any one of them. Kate Marino's senior year internship at the District Attorney's Office isn't exactly glamorous - more like an excuse to leave school early that looks good on college applications. Then the DA hands her boss, Mr. Stone, the biggest case her small town of Belle Terre has ever seen.

Great Plot Twists
Revisado: 06-01-24
I enjoyed the way the story slowly revealed details and kept you guessing. The narration by the killer without knowing which boy it was from the group was brilliant. i also enjoyed seeing things through Kate's eyes. I liked that there was a romance, but less kissing scenes would have improved the quality of the story. But overall it was a fresh and interesting book.

Revisado: 05-30-24
I was satisfied with the ending of the series, but this book was quite repetitive and uneven. I also was disappointed in the change of narrators. Overall, I liked the series a lot, but I wished there had been more action and less emotional drama in this final book.

Thousands of readers have come home to Mitford, the little town with the big heart, whose endearing and eccentric residents have become like family members. But now change is coming to the hamlet. Father Tim, the Episcopal rector, and his wife Cynthia are pondering retirement; a brash new mayoral candidate is calling for aggressive development; a suspicious realtor with plans for a health spa is eyeing the beloved house on the hill; and, worst of all, the Sweet Stuff Bakery may be closing.

I appreciated the story as well as the narration by the author, but the book was so disjointed due to the fact that it was abridged. I'm looking forward to moving on with the series unabridged!

Favorite So Far
Revisado: 02-28-20
This is my third book that I have listened to by Elizabeth Camden, and it is by far my favorite. I enjoy romance novels, but I do not like fluff or smut. This book develops believable characters that examine the human condition and educate people on a time long forgotten. I particularly enjoy that Ms. Camden does not shy away from the pain and suffering that we suffer in this world. She weaves stories that are authentic as they show how God can bring joy amidst the sorrows. I also appreciate the element of intrigue in this novel. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
With courage, grace, and powerful insight, bestselling author Kristin Hannah captures the epic panorama of World War II and illuminates an intimate part of history seldom seen: the women's war. The Nightingale tells the stories of two sisters, separated by years and experience, by ideals, passion and circumstance, each embarking on her own dangerous path toward survival, love, and freedom in German-occupied, war-torn France—a heartbreakingly beautiful novel that celebrates the resilience of the human spirit and the durability of women. It is a novel for everyone, a novel for a lifetime.

Historia
George Eliot's most ambitious novel is a masterly evocation of diverse lives and changing fortunes in a provincial community. Peopling its landscape are Dorothea Brooke, a young idealist whose search for intellectual fulfillment leads her into a disastrous marriage to the pedantic scholar Casaubon; and the charming but tactless Dr Lydgate, whose marriage to the spendthrift beauty Rosamund and pioneering medical methods threaten to undermine his career.
