Revisado: 08-05-23
I have loved so many of her other books. This was not my favorite. The performance was good.

Historia
Dr. Briana Ortiz’s life is seriously flatlining. Her divorce is just about finalized, her brother’s running out of time to find a kidney donor, and that promotion she wants? Oh, that’s probably going to the new man-doctor who’s already registering eighty-friggin’-seven on Briana’s “pain in my ass” scale. But just when all systems are set to hate, Dr. Jacob Maddox completely flips the game . . . by sending Briana a letter. And it’s a really good letter. Like the kind that proves that Jacob isn’t actually Satan.

Love Story
Revisado: 06-24-23
Second in series. I enjoyed the first better. This booked seemed a few chapters too long, but overall, I enjoyed it. The story of 2 ER doctors, one with social anxiety, and the relationship they “fake” to convince his family that he has moved on from his girlfriend becoming engaged to his brother.

Hallmark Christmas Movie in Book Form
Revisado: 12-21-22
This book was essentially a way-too-cute Hallmark Christmas movie in book form. It was entertaining enough for something light and feel-good around the holidays.

Historia
Texas, 1921. A time of abundance. The Great War is over, the bounty of the land is plentiful, and America is on the brink of a new and optimistic era. But for Elsa Wolcott, deemed too old to marry in a time when marriage is a woman’s only option, the future seems bleak. Until the night she meets Rafe Martinelli. By 1934, the world has changed; millions are out of work and drought has devastated the Great Plains. Elsa must make an agonizing choice: fight for the land she loves or leave it behind and go west, to California, in search of a better life for her family.

Story of Survival of Mother and Children During Great Depression
Revisado: 08-06-21
This was an interesting, and very depressing, story of the plight of a mother and what she endured to survive with her 2 children during the Great Depression as they were forced to abandon their farm and migrate to California. Ultimately, it is the story of a mother’s love. It is a dark and depressing novel with the only real light coming from the daughter’s realization of the strength of her mother. Well written and gripping, yet not for someone looking for an uplifting read.

Historia
Alicia Berenson’s life is seemingly perfect. A famous painter married to an in-demand fashion photographer, she lives in a grand house with big windows overlooking a park in one of London’s most desirable areas. One evening, her husband, Gabriel, returns home late from a fashion shoot, and Alicia shoots him five times in the face and then never speaks another word. Alicia’s refusal to talk, or give any kind of explanation, turns a domestic tragedy into something far grander, a mystery that captures the public imagination and casts Alicia into notoriety.

Psychological Thriller
Revisado: 11-06-19
Lots of twists and turns in this one, with plenty of red herrings. A story about an artist who is convicted of murdering her husband. After his murder, she refuses to speak and is sent to a mental hospital rather than prison, where she works with a psychotherapist who has a keen interest in her case.
I only listened to the Audible version and did not read any of the book (I usually switch back and forth). I enjoyed the Audible performance but at the end, I thought I might have benefited from reading some of the book to get a better sense of the relationship between the journal entries and the overall story arc.
