Really basic plot
Revisado: 05-05-25
There were so many opportunities to take this story somewhere else. But nope, this writer took the actual most basic, least interesting route. What a waste of a listen.

Her best book yet
Revisado: 04-04-25
Fantastic story and series. I love how Collins’ writing has matured. There’s depth in all the characters. The plot connects snow and the hunger games series. Best book I’ve read all year.

Just okay
Revisado: 01-14-25
The story was pretty bland with highly unrealistic situations. Additionally, the characters were all unlikable and forgettable.

Historia
The teenagers get their kicks telling ghost stories in the old graveyard. The parents trust their kids will arrive home safe from school. Everyone knows everyone. Curtains rarely twitch. Front doors are left unlocked. But Diana Brewer isn’t lying safely in her bed where she belongs. Instead she lies in a hayfield, circled by vultures, discovered by a local farmer. How quickly a girl becomes a ghost. How quickly a town of friendly, familiar faces becomes a town of suspects, a place of fear and paranoia.

Predicable but good
Revisado: 08-09-24
Fairly decent plot and while I found it predictable, I enjoyed the story and characters. I wish we would’ve been able to learn how it ended for all characters not just some of them. The story felt unfinished.

Historia
It’s the opening night of The Manor, the newest and hottest luxury resort, and no expense, small or large, has been spared. The infinity pool sparkles; the “Manor Mule” cocktail (grapefruit, ginger, vodka, and a dash of CBD oil) is being poured with a heavy hand. Everyone is wearing linen.

Pretty much the same as her other books
Revisado: 06-24-24
The midnight feast is so similar to the guest list. And, the timeline doesn’t make sense at all. The twist isn’t possible with the amount of time between the events. A big let down

Best thriller I’ve read in awhile
Revisado: 04-11-24
The plot of this is fantastic. The characters are both likable and unlikeable. They’re flawed in a natural way. The dialogue is fantastic. And, I didn’t figure it out until close to the end. I love that. Also, the narrator is wonderful. I’m trying to keep this vague to avoid any spoilers but this is a solid listen. 5 stars!

Amateur writing
Revisado: 03-22-24
I’m really surprised as I’ve listened to her other books and loved them. The characters are one dimensional and the plot is thin. The main character is painfully stupid, makes obvious wrong decisions, and follows the “I have to save everyone” troupe that we’ve seen played out time and time again. The plot, I’m sorry, what plot? I don’t think I’ll be listening or reading the next one.

A little too YA for me
Revisado: 02-05-24
Yes, it was a decent story and I’ll prob listen to the next one, but the story was a little too YA for me. The main characters don’t have much development. Everything takes place over a couple weeks which I think is the main problem. None of this could happen so quickly.

Awful music throughout recording
Revisado: 08-18-23
The title says it all. The constant stop for awful music ruins the entire story. I had it at 1.5x to try to get through it. The story was pretty dumb especially considering you know Josie is lying the whole time based on the title of the book. Why on earth would you make the title a spoiler. I might be done with Lisa Jewell forever at this point. What a waste of my life listening to this.
